Okay, I'll Say It. I Want Tom Herman at Texas

DMAC

I don't disagree with anything you said. But I am very much hoping we are wrong about Charlie's future. I hope next year we go undefeated.
I hope we win every game as well.  I just want us to win and be competitive.  There were alot of games these past seasons where we were not even competitive.  Some of those games we lost to lower level competition.

It is also very bothersome that Strong is 0-11 when the other team scores first.  That should be very glaring to everyone on this board.  It basically says this staff does NOT make the appropriate adjustments during the game or halftime.

I understand that everyone loves Charlie.  I do as well but I dont have much faith in his coaching ability.  I dont care what he did at Louisivlle or under Urban Meyer.  How much of Strongs success was Teddy Bridgewater who is lighting it up for vikings right now?  In the end what has Charlie shown any of us?  He did beat HoeU once.  He beat WV when they were #23.  He beat Baylor who was basically using a WR (4th string) at QB.  Other than those 3 games Strong hasnt given us any reasons to believe we are going to be a power house again.

http://espn.go.com/blog/minnesota-vikings/post/_/id/17462/teddy-bridgewater-leads-list-of-reasons-vikings-can-beat-packers

Everyone just assumes he can get it done but hasnt even been .500 in two years.  In the end this team would be better with Herman.  Herman deserves a ton of credit with what he has done with Houston.

I believe in Charlie, he develops talent but most importantly he develops good men, I say we have some patience and let the man do his job.

HOOK EM
We have given him 2 years and we got 2 sub .500 records.

The only thing Charlie has proven he can develop is ................ blowouts and bonehead staff decisions.

Watson after 3 blowouts in 2014, waste an entire off season, then pull him after the first game in 2015 and throw the season away.

Yeah. He didn't coach three freshman all-american this year. He didn't coach over forty men into the NFL. Didn't win a BCS bowl. Dude has got no skills.

Blake your homer stance is very disappointing. While i will always wish the best for our team, you have to realize when the motor isnt running quite right.

YES Strong had a young team this year, he had a bunch of players last year that were not "his own". - This is the University of Texas and while our players didnt meet our standards they sure as hell were quality enough to beat a lot of the teams we lost to.

As for the past he was quite fortunate in that most of his success he was not in charge of running the ship, all he had to do was focus on the defense.

At Louisville he was lucky enough have bridgewater, but come on the kid obviously is special since he is killing it right now in THE league.

Gene chizik did pretty well with cam newton but i wouldn't want him leading my team under normal circumstances.

The one thing i love is Charlie the Recruiter.. but last time i checked you can be an awesome recruiter and be a coordinator.

All I hear is excuses.  Show me proof of what Strong has accomplished at Texas.  Just one thing.  All you have is what he accomplished at Louisville with Teddy carrying his team.

The funny thing with you Blake is you like call out anyone who questions Strong's effectiveness at Texas as "You just want him to fail so we can get Herman"

I realize you are a Strong sympathizer, apologist, fanboy, blah blah but I expect more than 2 sub .500 seasons from a coach being paid 5 million a year. Even if Herman made 3 million this year then it cost Houston 230K per win.  We have paid Strong about 900k per win over the course of 2 years.

Some of the best bargains: Temple's Matt Rhule, North Carolina's Larry Fedora, Clemson's Dabo Swinney, Northwestern's Pat Fitzgerald, Michigan State's Mark Dantonio, Iowa's Kirk Ferentz, Stanford's David Shaw and Utah's Kyle Whittingham.

Some bad bargains, at least for this year: Texas' Charlie Strong, South Carolina's Steve Spurrier, Auburn's Gus Malzahn, Oregon State's Gary Andersen, Purdue's Darrell Hazell, Georgia Tech's Paul Johnson and UCF's George O'Leary.

He has NOT proven shit at Texas.  You know it and I know it.  You can cry about his Urban Meyer days or his Teddy days all you want but that doesnt change anything about what he has done here.

Homer stance? How is believing that a coach will be successful, homer? Once you can explain that, I'll entertain the rest of your post.

Are we resorting to name calling again DMAC?

Yes, homer. You have made more excuses for Strong and looked the other way then anyone else here on this board. While i understand that you are passionate about our program and the cards on the table are what they are, it is unreasonable to look at picture on the wall and call it the Mona Lisa.

I think Strong is a great man, defensive coach, and recruiter but head coach not so much.

So you're altering the definition of homer then? That's what we're getting at?

How is that name calling?  More like calling it like it is.  Maybe you should try it with regards to Strong.

You make excuses for his failures and underachievement, so yes you are Strong sympathizer, apologist and fanboy.

Gee that one was difficult...lets see

You blame the players.

You blame Mack Brown

You blame Shawn Watson

All valid.... but the problem is you never place any blame on Strong, the effin HC, whatsoever.  You even blamed Watson for Strong deciding to keep him as the OC after 2014.  He is the HC and yet has ZERO accountability.

So yea noticeable pattern there.

What shortcomings have I ignored? I was critical of his initial decision to hire Watson when Strong was first hired. I was critical of his decision not to fire Watson last year. I was critical of his decision to start Swoopes over Heard at the beginning of this year.

But hey, whatever fits your narrative Dalton.

With the shit show we have displayed the last two season and rumors, i am amazed that he has been able to convince these kids to even consider coming here. But they are exactly that kids.

Maybe these kids exhibit more patience, understanding and desire than their fan counterparts.

I am not sure why everyone acts surprised when Whaley decides to pick Georgia and then pick Arkansas over Texas.

Recruits and potential OC's are worried about Strong stay at Texas.  I wonder why...he has won 11 games in 2 years and consistently gets blown out.
