Observations From The Baylor Win (Running Thread)

Overall the defense did what they’ve done for most of year and that’s make life hard on offenses. They set the tone from the beginning with the Elliott pick six. Aside from the busted coverage on Lynch and giving away some free yards on penalties, this unit played well.

The highlight of the day offensively was seeing the freshmen backs get busy and continue to show they need more carries. Buechele was solid for most of the day aside from the pick in the end zone that was by far his worst play of the day to my eyes. Though I will say this game gets ugly much quicker if the offense executes better early on.

By the way, we had all this fussing about Armanti Foreman getting snaps. Got snaps yesterday and recorded 2 catches for 12 yards.

I’m glad Hill was able to return, but man I would be careful if I was Texas after what we just saw with Sam Ehlinger.
Same thing happened to my son last year.  He got up from a hit and was off balanced.  I thought for sure he was concussed.  Turns out he retained all his faculties but his inner ear was out of whack for a little bit.  Took him to the Dr. and he was perfectly fine.  That was the first thing I thought of because Hill got him with the side of his head.

Appreciate your input on this. I had a bad feeling in my stomach for a bit.

Also, Denzel Mims came in averaging 20 yards a catch and Holton Hill was tasked with covering him. Finished the game with 4 catches for 42 yards. Hill is BALLING.

I'm so torn.  On one hand I love seeing Hill being so dominating and shutting down one side of the field.  On the other hand I would really love to see him one more year at Texas, but the way he is playing might push him to the NFL.  I want one more year of Jefferson, Elliott and Hill.  Then Green, Jamison, Sterns, Ayodele, Foster and Cook will be ready to assume the roles.

Did you see the replay on this? No way this was a hold right? Both teams got away with a lot worse
Cuney laid on top of his guy who was falling to the ground, terrible call. I am never one to blame officials because calls even themselves out over time, but I am still at a loss of what is holding and what is not in the Big 12.

So Daniel In your eyes (although it was Baylor) who’s your starter next week if both are healthy???  Sams a beast but with the line we have we need the quick accurate passes from Shane. I believe... I think lol

That's the thing. It seems to even out between helping and hurting us, because they don't call holding consistently at all. I know after the RRS, a lot of my OU friends were complaining about the refs not calling holding on Texas. After watching the last 3-4 games, though, I think the officials just can't call holding consistently, and that it's not biased toward one team (or teams) in particular.
