*****NSD 2 Thread*****

Just heard Mama tell Donald Hawkins hope you aren’t too disappointed. He said maybe a little. We lose alot of lineman to Stanford

IT is officially reporting that Hughes not getting the gig as Player Personnel guy. CDC blocked it

Mack out recruits us. Let that sink in to where Herman had taken this program.

We are going to get obliterated by Bama in 2 years. Can you say 28+ pt spread.

The transition class is likely a wrap outside of the portal.
And, that's ok. a top 20 class as a program transition class is not bad at all; disappointing but not bad.  A few portal transfers that can contribute to fill holes will help out a lot but I'm all for saving slots for the 2022 class, which could be top 5

I agree. I imagine the landscape will be combed for transfers that can help in 2021.  A promising 2021 is vital for 2022 recruiting.

Is this a good recap?

we signed 2 players today to scholarship:  Ishmael Ibraheem and David Abiara.

That gives us a 21 man signing class, not counting portal transfers.

QUESTIONS:

How many scholarships are available for possible transfers?

Are there any known portal possibilities out there?

I’ll hang up and listen.

4

and not at the moment not expecting any roster movement until after spring ball sark is probably going to give the rest of his time right now to filling out his support staff

As I see it, most of the players in the portal that are interesting are players that want to find a place to be a starter.  Most good players that want to transfer due to being a backup are not likely to transfer to a place where they will be a backup. At Texas, there is a need for depth and future contributors but there are not a very many holes in the lineup.  jmo.

Check everyone out of course (at this point I would expect a personnel dept dedicated team to do this one thing), but I think guys in the portal to search for are former 3* or G5  types ready to make the move up such as Calvin Anderson (2018), Parker Braun (2019),  etc; guys that can give depth and possibly make two deep roster

Random question:

I have seen Brenden Schooler as a 2021 WR transfer from Arizona to a Texas for some time.  Did this young man not play for us in 2020?  Why is he on the 2021 list?

We have plenty of kids in this group to help down the road.

Kids don’t pick Bama because of Saban. They pick Bama because Saban has Alabama winning. There is no magic bullet. Win games get recruits and win more games.

We also signed Keithron Lee, the receiver, but Sark says we have 4 spots available.  Spring ball will allow them to possibly fill some of those based on areas of need and via the portal or 1 time transfer rule.

I always heard it as hot ziggity dog old expresion. Per Sark there is four spaces left to fill.
