CFS's legs appear disproportionately short compared to his upper body. At first, I thought this pic was photoshopped.

Guess it's legit.

Shiro Davis, Poona Ford and Desmond Jackson all said they think Notre Dame is probably overlooking Texas and the strength of UT's D-line:

"Very possibly," Jackson said.

"Yes, based off of last year," Ford said.

Asked if the Texas defense can contain ND's running QB Malik Zaire, Jackson smiled and said, "We'll see Saturday."

Ford said DL coach Brick Haley has told the D-line Zaire "is a running back playing quarterback."

When asked for one word to describe the Texas defense, Tank Jackson said, "Hungry."

A couple quotes from Shawn Watson:

J Gray is really important to offense, to protection.

Doesn't worry him that Gray will be back returning kicks.

Told Gray if he wants to play in NFL he has to improve in pass protection.

Marcus has had an outstanding training camp. We moved him from outside to inside. He gives us a nice thump inside.

John Burt and Armanti Foreman playing on the outside - using their speed. Armanti is so big and strong, he's tough for a CB to get a hold of.

Notre Dame finished the 2014 season 1-4 in the last 5 games of the season. Tyrone Swoopes has more experience at QB than Malik Zaire (who will make only his 2nd start at QB for Notre Dame when they take the field against Texas).

Watson said he thinks Swoopes can win a game by himself ? WTH ? He couldn't win but ONE freaking game in a weak class A district in high school and he thinks he can win a game in D1 football by himself ? I am afraid we may have a deranged man coaching our offense......

I'm afraid we have a deranged man posting on Horn Sports. Does anyone want to guess his initials?

Seriously...How can a coach really think a guy could win a game by himself ???? We aren't talking Vince Young here......

Notre Dame must stop Texas quarterbacks Tyrone Swoopes and Jerrod Heard

Swoopes threw four interceptions in a 48-10 loss to TCU to close the regular season, then passed for just 57 yards in a loss to Arkansas in the Texas Bowl.

Swoopes wants to show how much he's grown since the end of last year, and he'll get his first crack with Texas' new-look offense Saturday against Notre Dame. The Irish are ranked No. 11 in both the AP and Amway Coaches polls

"I know I can do it, and just going out and doing it, that's the last thing I've got to do," Swoopes told reporters from Austin. "And I feel like I'll be able to do that."

Swoopes beat out Jerrod Heard for the starting spot this fall. Both will play against the Irish.

"They are a lot further along now this year in Year 2," Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said of the Longhorns' offense under Texas coach Charlie Strong. "You start with the quarterback. Tyrone now is much more comfortable at the position. He can throw the ball. In particular, he does a great job pushing the ball down the field. He's got a strong arm and the offense suits him very well. They are in the kind of offense that takes advantage of his skill set.

"… And then another quarterback, Heard, who can run the football. So you have to prepare for both of them. Certainly it's a challenge. We are preparing for a spread offense where tempo is part of it and having two quarterbacks and one that can run the ball effectively."

Texas tweaked its offense in the spring, meaning Notre Dame didn't have many options for film studying.

"We are going to certainly see some things that we haven't seen before," Kelly said. "But we are preparing for Swoopes, who can throw it. We are preparing for a spread offense that has skill."

Swoopes started the final 12 games last season. He completed 58.3 percent of his passes (224-for-384) for 2,409 yards, 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Heard redshirted last season.

"You have two quarterbacks that have worked really hard, have competed, have pushed one another," Strong said. "So just really excited about watching those two guys go out and compete."

Strong was an assistant coach for the Irish from 1995-98. He gave Swoopes advice on playing at Notre Dame Stadium.

"He just always tells us, 'You can't let the stage get too big for you, that all those people will be there but they can't step foot on the field. It'll just be us and Notre Dame on the field, so we can't really let that consume us,'" Swoopes said
