24 teams with four 6-team pods? How does Notre Dame fit into this merger?

I tell you one thing...I don't give one rip about Notre Dame. They can take a hike.

*sigh* Your TV market argument only works IF the school in question actually delivers the market.  You hate Cougar High because they don't deliver Houston.  You've argued vehemently that TCU doesn't deliver DFW.  I'm sorry, but SDSU doesn't deliver San Diego either, based on ratings.

Oh I agree with that. . .my point is that if we are going to add a school that is geographically undesirable. . .SDSU offers a great location, easy access and a fertile recruiting market. . .but notice, they were never in my proposed schools. . . . .I don't "hate" Cougar High, they just bring NOTHING to the table we don't have either. . . .

As for the merger with the ACC. . . .I actually think long term that is the only viable option. . . .

Love the idea of road trips to cities like Atlanta or venues like Clemson. . . . .

But 20 teams not 24. . . .

4 5 team pods. . . .2 divisions. . . 

Play home and home vs your pod (4 games) 3 teams from your division Pod (4+3=7 games) 1 team from each of the other 2 pods = 9 games then 3 OOC games.     Best records win division .. . .division winner play for CCG. . . . 

Now you only have 4 Power conference, the winner of each conference is seeded in playoffs. . . .

Now you have an 8 team playoff as the division winners are the 8 seeds.  . .

Big 12 Drops:

Iowa State

ACC Drops:

Wake Forest

Syracuse

North Carolina State

Options are Duke (attendance is horrid)  Wake   ISU  Pitt  TCU  Kansas 

Problem is, some on that list good at basketball. . .is that enough?   

But relooking at it, 24 teams can work .. . 1 less game vs opposite division pod. . . .
