Hell, I can't even go to the local college summer league baseball game, leave, and get back in without buying another ticket. My understanding is you can still go to the alumni center at halftime & get back in through gate 7. Winning cures everything & when our beloved football team starts winning again on a big level, most of the "fans" complaining will be praising Patterson as the greatest AD to ever walk the 40 acres. Calm down people!
You are correct TXHorns99. The original article quoted in my OP has been edited since earlier today.
The original article mentioned nothing about reentry from certain gates, nothing at all about a link to the Football Fan Guide.
Now, why do you suppose that this morning the link read like this below (from my OP,) yet this evening, reads like the article (in green,) at the bottom?

Texas Athletics announces new stadium re-entry policy
Providing a safe and secure environment for fans at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium is a top priority for Texas Athletics.
Aug. 13, 2015 Football
Providing a safe and secure environment for fans at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium is a top priority for Texas Athletics, and the approaching Texas Football season offers a new opportunity to showcase a smooth and exciting gameday experience.
Beginning with the 2015 season, Texas Athletics is instituting a no re-entry policy at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. Gates open at the conclusion of the Stadium Stampede, or approximately two hours before kickoff, and from that point, fans are allowed one entry and one exit.
This policy is consistent with most major sporting venues across the country, including statewide NFL stadiums of similar capacity that provide homes to the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys. Careful consideration went into the decision to implement this policy, and the motivation behind it was providing the best, most secure environment for our fans and student-athletes. No re-entry allows gameday staff the best opportunity to ensure the safety of everyone in the stadium.
This year, Texas Football Fan Fest in the Red McCombs Red Zone begins four hours prior to kickoff and is open to anyone who has a ticket for the game. Fans may exit and re-enter the north end zone area freely until the conclusion of the Stadium Stampede.

Texas Athletics gameday update: Enhancements and policy
Texas Football home opener vs. Rice on Sept. 12.
Providing an engaging, fun and safe environment for all fans at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium is a top priority for Texas Athletics. As the 2015 Texas Football season approaches, we are proud to announce multiple enhancements to our gameday experience, including a family-friendly pregame fan fest, additional tailgating options, Austin food vendors, concessions upgrades and the addition of beer and wine sales throughout the entire stadium. To facilitate the sale of beer and wine and ensure compliance with Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission (TABC) laws, rules and regulations, we are also introducing an adjustment to our re-entry policy.
Beginning four hours before kickoff, the Texas Football Fan Fest kicks up the energy and brings the party right inside DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. Live music, featuring School of Rock, and the familiar flavor of Austin's Pizza, Torchy's Tacos and Pluckers will be available. Perfect for families, the fan fest also provides family-friendly, interactive games and big screen TVs throughout the north end zone concourse so fans can keep up with all the football action across the country before the Longhorns take the field. The fan fest is open to all ticketholders.
For those wishing to stay outdoors and enjoy the majesty of the Forty Acres until kickoff, Texas Athletics has partnered with Tailgate Guys to bring first-class, turnkey tailgating experiences to the nearby, picturesque spaces of the LBJ Lawn. Tailgate Guys offers packages to accommodate an intimate group of five college friends or a professional networking circle of 2,000 colleagues and customers. Tailgate Guys will also partner with members of the esteemed Austin food and beverage scene to build catering packages sure to please any appetite. For more information, please visit TailgateGuys.com.
The Austin food culture continues into the concourses of DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. New for 2015, fans can choose among local favorites like Hat Creek Burgers, Mighty Fine Burgers Fries & Shakes, Torchy's Tacos, Pluckers, Austin's Pizza and PoK-e-Jo's BBQ. Creative concepts from our stadium concessionaire, The 1883 Provisions Co., also bring fans tasty options like a sweet shop and a build-your-own nacho bar.
For the responsible enjoyment of fans who are of legal age, beer and wine are available for purchase throughout the stadium. To permit the sale of beer and wine, Texas Athletics must comply with all TABC laws, rules and regulations. To ensure compliance, we have made adjustments to our re-entry policy.
All gates open at the conclusion of the Stadium Stampede, or approximately two hours before kickoff; from that point, fans are allowed one entry. Once gates are open and fans have full access to stadium seating, fans who have scanned in will not be able to exit the stadium and re-enter. This policy is consistent with most major sporting venues across the country, including AT&T Stadium (home of the Dallas Cowboys) and NRG Stadium (home of the Houston Texans).
The Texas Exes Etter-Harbin Alumni Center and the University of Texas Club are licensed by TABC and thus are accessible from the start of the second quarter to the start of the fourth quarter through specified gates. For further details about club accessibility, please consult the complete re-entry policy online in our fan guide
Careful consideration went into the development of these gameday enhancements. Texas Athletics' top priority and motivation is to provide the best and safest environment for our fans and student-athletes.
