Chip just reported on OB, the deal with Strong is nearly done. Strong has to still talk to the Louisville AD and his daughter is playing in a soccer tournament, so he will not be in Austin until Sunday or Monday. Probably an official announcement on Sunday and presser with Strong on Monday. Hurt will not be coming.

This seems good news to me

Yep even Joe Schad is reporting it. Saying Hurtt won't follow either. This is a done deal, people need to move on.

Is he not working the game anymore? It would be big to see him on TV putting the Horns up in front of every kid that has the desire to play big boy football.

I am coming around on CS and look forward to watching him finish up this recruiting class and assembling a staff.

I have a novel idea. Where's R. Lee Ermy? Based on his performance in Full Metal Jacket, gunny would be the ultimate football coach! Lol and he'd give all the player awesome nicknames like Joker, Cowboy, Gomer Pyle, Snowball.

I'm excited. Hope he still gets to pump Texas during his national title game stint

Assembling a staff??? He is bringing almost his entire staff.

I have no problems with Strong as long as he brings in a top notch offensive staff.

Yeppers. Here is Scipio's take on the Strong/Louisville Offense - makes it seem somewhat pedestrian compared to some of the Big 12 schemes.

Offense
Offensively, he chose to make Louisville a fairly traditional pro-style attack with a moderate tilt to the passing game. Mostly because Bridgewater is a stud. They've never really recruited dual threat QBs (Bridgewater is not a dual threat, despite the contentions of lazy college analysts), which I find odd given that Strong the DC understands how they can challenge game planning and he saw Tim Tebow up close for several years. They run a lot of stuff that you'd find in the 1990s NFL. They don't use pace much and not many high school or college coaches are beating down the doors at Louisville to learn how they do things on offense.
