New Minor League Football kicking off

If I had $10M in the bank, I would not be looking at investments in minor league football.
I agree but this new league doesn't address the NCAA amateurism issue. This new league is going to do the same 3 years out of high school that is creating this massive headache for the NCAA which is losing support by the day over not paying players who give them those massive TV deals.

The NCAA needs a true additional option to keep doing what they are doing. When football players in America between the ages of 18-21 only have the NCAA to continue their football career, that monopoly gives rise to abuse within the system where the players are at the mercy of the schools with no recourse for appealing the decision. Obviously because of that I support a college players union because right now, no one is looking out for the student athletes unless a school decides to do something. The athlete has no voice in the room.

Backing off my soapbox, I do believe that a minor league football league can't really survive without help from the NFL. The WNBA wouldn't have lasted without the NBA's support. They need a TV contract and a direct connection to a NFL team because that would get NFL fans interested in watching the players that may come up and contribute at the NFL level.

However, the NFL doesn't really develop players. They get the most out of them and then throw them away once their done. Couple all those issues with the concussion issues, it's clear that the game of Football is in a crucial moment of it's existence.

I wonder if a minor league football league that took kids right out of HS would kill the SEC.  All the kids enamored with the SEC would start seeing an easier route to the NFL and would be able to get paid in the open and they would not have to fake going to class.

And it won't kill college football. Hell the MLS gets a ton of fans and attendance is through the roof and as far as league talent, it's not even in the top 20. People will still watch Texas, Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. Maybe the talent won't be the best but the pageantry and university pride will still be there. And those kids will want to be there.

I did not mean to insinuate that it would kill CFB.  I do think it would hurt the cheating model that the SEC has based itself on because it would not be able to compete for the money hungry kids with the minor leagues.
