What names come to mind as an upgrade.... Wish Coach Rumph

Good luck... Any thoughts on who we go after?

Maybe I missed it on another thread... what do we know about Hurtt other than he has a GREAT name for a DL coach?
Believe he was the DL coach at Louisville with Strong. Has a no show clause/penalty for some violation, think I saw it expires in May 2015. Think he took a job with the Chicago Bears recently?

Hurtt was named ESPN Recruiter of the Year in 2011. He was responsible for Teddy Bridgewater and other players for CS's first class at Louisville. Sounds like he would be just as good as Rumph or better.

Here's what CS said about Hurtt when he named Recruiter of the Year.

I met him years ago, and I like how he handled himself, "said Louisville coach Charlie Strong who hired Hurtt in 2010. It's about building relationships. I saw what he had with those coaches and kids (in South Florida), I knew if I had a chance to get him, then I had to get him. The kids trust him. He's a leader and a great recruiter. He's driven, one heck of a football coach and a really good person. He wants what's best for his players and these recruits. I was excited to get him because he wants to be the best. Lots of staffs have good coaches or good recruiters. Clint Hurtt is both.

Some talk that Santos will come back as a DE in 2016

Supposedly up to 270

Couldnt find a better thread to drop this into

this is from Feb. 2015...

Yes it is. But we are back in a potentially similar situation at this coaching position. So these threads often get recycled. lol

Early word has it that Chicago's DL coach may come. But I haven't heard anything since a few weeks ago and doubt I will again until the Bears' last game is played.

Chicago was hoping to make a run for the playoffs - but sadly that died when they lost to the 49ers two weeks ago, and then lost again last week.

I'd be pretty surprised if Hurtt came back to the college game.  He's doing really well with the Bears - and it wouldn't surprise me to see him get a promotion with either the Bears or some other team.  Hurtt spoke in an interview about how his goal has always been to get to the NFL.  Later in the same interview he spoke about how much time/effort college recruiting demands, and that now that he's married with kids the pro game is a better fit.

FWIW..Recently, Higs has been shooting down any hope of Hurtt coming to the 40
