I think we are in for a very interesting few days. Here is how I see it playing out.

1. UT will release an official statement that Mack Brown is stepping down.

2. A press conference will be called so Mack can address the media

3. There will be a 24-48 media frenzy where speculation and rumors will be off the charts on who is going to replace Mack.

4. Info will be leaked to a national pundit that Nick Saban will be the next coach at Texas.

5. There will be a few denials for a few hours or even a day.

6. The announcement will then become official and then a press conference will be held in introduce Nick Saban as the next coach at the University of Texas.

7. UPDATED: Streaking through West mall. (Thanks riloh05 for reminding me)

I sure hope this is what happens

I'm cool with that, but I don't think there's enough patience with the masses to wait for it to play out. :-)

Doesn't the Job posting have to be up for 10 days since this is a State University? That was my understanding am I wrong on this?

I agree with you but there was way more than 10 days after he announced he would be stepping down before they hired Patterson. You and I both know how HR works and I think it will be curious to see how this plays out. I wish they could happen simultaneously.

Besides Army/Navy, this Mack/Saban Saga is our college football this weekend. I was hoping to golf for the 1st time since September, but might stay home and press F5 all weekend. I would love Saban to Texas to be announced on Sunday to trump NFL and Monday talk radio headlines (maybe because I have a feeling my 49ers might lose to the Bucs). Saban to Texas is a seismic shift in the college football landscape. So many domino effects. I love Hot Stove season, whether in College, NFL, MLB, and NBA. But like the wiser guys on this board, I will try to remain patient, but really, being patient for a week is quite challenging.

Does anyone know what Bobby's Friday morning update is about. I'm not a paying member, but the non-VIP posts I could read make it sound ominous.

I am speaking only to the patient part........I think with ease you can be patient because you have been patient for 4 months!! and we just have about a week left of this "STUFF". You do know that I yelled Stuff.
