Snyder 1-10 his first year at K-State.

Mack 1-10 his first year at North Carolina.

Bear Bryant 1-9 his first year at A&M.

Saban 7-6 his first year at Bama.

Strong 7-6 his first year at Louisville.

I could continue.

Strong is dealing with a depleted roster and it's going to take time to rebuild. Anyone that thinks this roster is capable of winning 7 or 8 games this year is delusional, to be frank. If Strong is still losing games in year 3 we can have a conversation about whether he's the right fit.

What is wrong with Shipley, though.  He doesn't seem himself.  I know our guys are continually interfered with, and it is rarely called.  That is so much BS, but Shipley isn't even the best option this year.  Is he injured?

Hook 'em!

i'll do it before anybody else does.

DKR 6-4-1 his first year at Texas (following 1-9)
akers 11-1 (following 5-5-1)
mack 9-3 (following 4-7)

i like charlie and strongly believe in his values. but today was an absolute momentum killer after some promising things the previous weeks. it is what it is.

I don't know enough about DKR in his first year.

I do know Akers had Earl Campbell, Brad Shearer,  Alfred Jackson, Vance Bedford, and Russel Erxleben, and so on. That team was loaded.

Mack had Ricky Williams, Wane McGarity, Jay Humphrey, Major Applewhite, Quentin Jammer, Kwame Cavil and so on in his first year.

Strong doesn't have nearly the talent Akers/Brown had in year one. Both of those coaches had arguably two of the best RBs in CFB history. Other than Malcom Brown I don't think we have a truly dominant player.

bomb...right on all counts. dkr followed 3 years of malaise under ed price so he wins the 'who did the best job' contest. no doubt, fred and mack inherited better situations than did charlie.

Just some weird decisions being made by coaching staff.

Malcolm Brown never sees the field in the second half for Gray who has shown no burst since his Achilles injury?

Why is Shipley fielding punts? He just calls a fair catch on every punt.

Is it me or does it seem every running play by a back us dead up the middle?

I see no one other than our two D Tackles that plays anywhere near consistently.

I see the same tired ass plays run over and over, even though they are obviously not working. Watson is the worst play caller in team history.

Special shout out to Mack for leaving a big pile of nothing for Charlie.

Completely agreed with you...

I actually don't mind Shipley returning punts. After Daje fumbling last year on every punt, I'll take someone that just doesn't fumble.
