Im sure Texas talked to him if Adam Schefter said it, but just have to laugh at how fast Chip pivots off his previous reports. Yesterday Briles was the name and he was ready to take the job if offered.

As Nuufaola mentioned in the Steve Patterson thread I posted SP is not aiming to make a lower tier hire and seal his career at Texas. not happening

Chip knows a lot of people at ESPN. Starting to believe that he's the source on a lot of the speculation on their end. Dude is just embarrassing himself of late. Amazing he can't see how stupid he looks throwing out a new "heavy contender to be the next HC" every single day of the week like clockwork. He's going to get laid into big time if it's a guy like Saban or Harbaugh that he's never discussed. As he should.

My gut feeling on Saban is based on the lack of talk about him...other than here and other boards. I think that as long as names can be dropped they will continue to be. That keeps the pressure off 1a and 1b. I feel like I'm on a roller coaster I can't get off of.
