From the Rumor Mill:mcphaul any way you can list the coaches who have made contact?
Well, you can't deny that Greg Robinson came up to speed rather quickly. The defenses will catch up just like they did with the run & shoot offeneses of the 90's.The names are nice with NFL guys but they better hire college assistants(at least 1/2 position coaches) that know how the defend the spread. That's very different form NFL/from Sec until last year/Big10 for most part.
He's from Big Sandy, TX which is right down the road from Longview. Not shocked that he wants to come home. He wanted the Cowboy DC job too from what I heard. Wish we'd have hired him instead of Monte.Lovie Smith has also made contact with us.
Totally agree... Guys I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping for Saban like you are...Not saying it won't happen, but I'd advise tapping the brakes.
Id have to agree with you even though Kiffin hasnt done all THAT bad considering things. Cant see the logic in throwing a ton of money at an extremely old man unless you had a legit shot at the Super Bowl.Wish we'd have hired him instead of Monte.
Doesn't he have ties to Gladewater, Tx and there is currently a certain DT there that suppose to be bad ass. He's from Big Sandy, TX which is right down the road from Longview. This is where I am on this whole thing. Not saying it won't happen, but I'd advise tapping the brakes.
Big Sandy is right outside of Gladewater. Couldn't hurt with Mack, but I think hiring Saban and Sumlin leaving A&M would be a much bigger deal with him.Doesn't he have ties to Gladewater, Tx and there is currently a certain DT there that suppose to be bad ass.
Agree, Saban at Texas changes the '14 class and completely changes '15 onward, add to that Sumlin leaving, night and day change.Big Sandy is right outside of Gladewater. Couldn't hurt with Mack, but I think hiring Saban and Sumlin leaving A&M would be a much bigger deal with him.
I tend to agree with this. The college game is so much different and the spread is taking over college football. A great coach has to be committed to hiring assts that can run it as well as to stop it. That's what makes me nervous about grabbing an NFL coach, unless he's a proven commodity from the college ranks RECENTLY.The names are nice with NFL guys but they better hire college assistants(at least 1/2 position coaches) that know how the defend the spread. We need to hold on to Jerrod Heard's commitment. Plain and simple!
Zoomair, I see you are using miss Tiffany's (gisele's) pic as an avatar, just an fyi, she is related to some posters on OB and very prominemt boosters.Wow, that would not be bad as well. All the aggies are getting pissed because of this talk of Saban to Texas. They actually believe what he says at his press conference.
