I agree. He's using Chip's sources well. I'm thinking whatever name Chip doesn't mention is going to be the guy.

I think that Patterson is just being thorough and secure a back-up plan. In my mind its Saban or Fisher until they say no. If we get through Saturday night without the insiders having info on Saban then I would consider that option fading. Fisher deadline is around Wednesday.. after that Briles, Harbaugh, and Strong become more likely options. IMO Mora is after those 5.

I think Patterson is a genius. I think he has quietly gone about getting everyones name in the hat by timely "leaks" while the one who shall remain nameless just goes about his business in annonimity until after his bowl game.

UW got Mora his raise not UT. He isn't getting another one.

I'm picturing an ESPN commercial with every major coach and a few mascots outside Patterson's office all with copies of their resume, trying to deal with the awkwardness of knowing who all is interviewing for the job.
