Mock 72 Team Football Breakaway From NCAA

Good work Contractor! It's so hard to determine the exact number of schools. Like Java said, maybe a formula based on attendance, football revenue, and academic performance should factor into the eligibility of joing THE LEAGUE.

Grouping teams in pods/divisions and scheduling is always intriguing. I'm tried of the stale conference matchups. Would like a variety of interesting matchups. That's why BCS bowl games are so much fun to watch. If we have these type of matchups every Saturday, sky's the limit for CFB and $$$.

Think this works for football only. Doesn't work for basketball because where would basketball schools like Villanova fit in? Villanova is a DII football school.
If you will look back, I didn't include Villanova in the 72 schools. I think for basketball and other sports, you can open the field up a bit. Admittedly, my plan is driven by football, but then, so is most of college athletics. Football totes the freight for quite a few athletic departments.

Y'all have so many good ideas. I would like to suggest leaving New Mexico out of the football mix. I lived in Albuquerque for quite a while, and they only use football to occupy their time until basketball season arrives. There really isn't very much fan support, except for the eastern part of New Mexico. That part of the state supports high school football.

Goodnight, everyone.
