So only saints are allowed to express their opinions? This place could get real quiet.
First, censorship is already here.
Second, I would challenge you to point to the quote that said she should not be "allowed to express" her opinion. She was criticized, not censored.
Look, anyone can play the strawman game like you did here. Let me give you a few quick examples--
Why do you not care about the victim of the domestic violence committed by McCaskill's husband? Why do you so easily forgive him but not DGB? Is this position of yours grounded in race? Partisan politics?
Why do you not care about the victim of his sexual harassment?
Why do you hate women?
How can you, in good conscience, complain that someone was attempting to suppress McCaskill's free speech while simultaneously attempting to do that yourself?
As shown, strawmen are not difficult. It's a lazy way to argue. It cheapens discussion. Everyone knows it and most see it for the mere diversionary tactic it is intended to be (as it was here). Further, it undermines the fruitful discussion of issues and stymies democratic ideals. I would encourage you to reconsider before piling in like that next time.
But back to the original point. McCaskill's husband is not simply some unknown, anonymous political donor. He is her primary political funder/fundraiser.* This is a man well-known as being accused of domestic violence upon a spouse and sexual harassment of an employee. In other words, she knowingly accepts large sums of money from a likely serial abuser of women in order to further her own political ambitions. This makes her position in that article not just hypocritical but cynically so. In short, she is not the right spokesperson to hop on a soapbox and criticize Stoops over DGB. And she deserves to be called out it for it.
* Footnote1- Not mentioned above, but McCaskill's husband is also a large owner of publicly funded retirement housing. Something McCaskill handily has had oversight of in the past. Corrupt political relationships bother me much more than Stoops' position on DGB's eligibility. Frankly, I think they should bother you more too.
