I am going to remain optimistic but unless we find a way to run the ball again in spite of our injured backs, the passing game is going to be nonexistent. It was easy to see that there in fact is still a huge question mark at the qb position. With the lack of a running game Ash was exposed as a mediocre passer who made poor decisions and overthrew his receivers.

Look, I consider this year a big success already but want to see some progress in the passing game. Maybe Connor Brewer comes in and competes right away?

I agree and it is a matter of when not if teams start to stack the line and dare this team to pass. I still say a lack of a QB is all on Mack. No way Texas should have no better option than these two high school QB's..
