He's 2-4 against the only decent to good teams he played in two years (Bama 12, OU 12, LSU 12, Florida 12, Bama 13, Auburn 13, LSU 13, and Missouri 13). Manziel's entire career/hype is built on one upset over Alabama.

unique!

While I'm certainly not Manziel's biggest fan nor defender. He did have one of the most atrocious defenses in SEC history playing on his team. Just like Tony Romo, it doesn't matter if you throw for five touchdowns and five hundred yards if the other Quarterback has successfully thrown for six and five hundred. That's why I think it can be a tad sketchy when using W/L as a measurement of skill.

Yeah, I give him all his love because it seems like people don't understand how bad of a football team Texas A&M was over the last couple of years. Unless a lot of stuff has changed, you will see what happens without JFF.

He won the Heisman.  He was a very good player.  I'm not a fan of him because he played for A&M and he consistently makes poor choices off the field, but if we're honest with ourselves, the guy put up some amazing numbers in one of the best football conferences.  He's got hype because he

This will be gold when this happens. ..

Yes I don't think he is over hyped, but I do think that a&m and Sumlin was over hyped.... but we will see

The reason I think he's overhyped are those that put him in the category of " one of the greatest college football players ever". You can't reach that category unless you win games and titles/BCS games/etc.

I'm a stats guy too. Out of the 6 losses he performed badly in 4 (performed well against Auburn and Bama). LSU shut him down twice, Florida shut him down, and Missouri shut him down. I'll give him credit for putting up big numbers against the lesser teams. When it came time to perform against the better teams though, he was shut down more times then he showed up.

I agree though that A&M will take a step back without him. What I will give Manziel credit for is his improvisation and ability to make plays. That really makes your o-line and receivers look much better then what they really are.

I've told friends that I don't think he'll do well in the NFL. (too small and thinks he's the Lebron of football)

Most of my friends who went to UT are saying I'm crazy and rooting for him.

We will see who wins.

One thing to remember about the media, including ESPN, is they can build you up and tear you down.

IMO, Johnny Football wasn't the most worthy candidate for the Heisman in 2012.  The award should've gone to K-State's Collin Klein.  Candidate yes, winner no.  JFF padded his stats against FCS opponents and the SEC dregs.  Aggies hated me for posting these facts on Twitter in attempting to sway the vote.  Sadly, I don't have much juice.   <_<

Many people have said the Johnny Football "30 FOR 30" is gonna be epic!  We'll see.  JFF is must-see TV regardless.

The "hype" wasn't/isn't based on wins & losses. It was his highlight reels and stat lines that generated all the fuss.

The defense was atrocious.  A&M has now signed some pretty darn good defensive players so; I'm not so sure we are going to see them fall much lower than they already are?

He is a dishonest punk.

He and a$m lawyered up and lied to the NCAA.He should not have played a down last year.

Imma just gonna leave this here ... 'cause it kinda represents how I feel about that Johnny feller.
