Mack was emotional and crying last night

after the game per IT. That doesnt sound like a guy not expecting to announce the end of his run at Texas in the next few days. I think the PR and Smoke being told to people like Chip Brown and the Statesmen dont mean much in reality. The notion UT can wait two weeks is laughable. within two weeks could be tomorrow. Its vapor. Texas couldnt hold a coaching staff together that long with a decision twisting in the run. these guys need other jobs and things fill up fast. Coaches seem to think Mack is done. They are seeking other jobs. Major is on the clock to give Will Muschamp a decision. They spoke to a player and a staff member who are expecting Mack's retirement

i have no beef in this, but i think OB is doing the right way of things...I've emailed with ketch before many times and with Jason..before posting any info, they try and confirm every detail...they've gotten some very not so nice notices about their site from inside UT athletics...Ketch and comp IMO right now are the ones to keep a close eye on...if they start to report it, its because its been verified and triple verified before putting anything out

I am not a member of IT and have no desire to get into a site war but they seem to throw out a lot of sensationalist information. I appreciate all information shared by the way. No one is ever 100% right.

By the way if you have ever spent 4 hours in 25 degree windy weather you will look like you were crying and have the sniffles as well.

The coaching staff will be hosting 2 JUCO DE's on official visits this Wednesday-Friday. Doesn't sound like a staff that is in disarray and will be disbanded in a week as some seems to think will happen.

IT reports what they hear without running it through a filter to fit anyone's agenda or do anyone's bidding for using that type of site to get a message out...like OB has been used at times. A current player and a staff member were their sources. If Mack wasnt emotional and there isnt a vibe around the team he wasnt going to step down hard to believe those sources would have some reason to make it up?

Totally agree with this post. The mods on the OB always go out of there way to verify the information with their trusted sources before posting anything. This is especially important since Ketch, Chip, and Jason all post under their name and not a alias. If they run a story without it being verified and vetted out and it's wrong the risk losing their sources. If the OB post something as definitive breaking news you can be pretty confident the information is correct. I guess the best way I see it is that OB is more like a real journalistic site where IT to me is more the TMZ of the Longhorn sports world.

I agree with this. It might not be the most sensational of news and might seem to flow a bit late, but I would rather have information that has been vetted and legitimatized. I am not defending OB, because the boards have gotten way too hostile and littered with immaturity that needs more oversight if that is possible that overshadows the entertainment of great recruiting and general news OB offers.
