Reports are coming out now that Mack Found out about the new AD hire on twitter! Nobody in the athletic department was consulted!

Agreed. Even if Mack were to stay, and I would break many, many things if that happened, he knows now that he doesn't have a stranglehold on his job.

This whole thing has really gotten comical. Mac said in his PC today that there was never a minute that Powers & Deloss did not keep him informed of the progress of the AD search. No offense to anyone here but at this point I take nothing as gospel and am just going to enjoy the ride.
