Louisville Scouting Report

Based on his stats, LOU's pitcher can be wild. 68 innings, 35 walks, 13 wild pitches and 13 hit batsmen. Let's hope we're patient at the plate.

patient at the plate converts to taking called third strikes seems like to me.  i know that the conventional wisdom is to be patient at the plate, but being patient at the plate is what we did last game and we left 12 men on base, many in scoring position.  having a "good eye" does no good with umps who don't also have a good eye, and most of these umps are calling balls and strikes with their red eye.

i'm tired of bunt, bunt, bunt and patient at the plate.  go out there and take some hacks, dammit.  and f'k sacrifice bunting.  hit the ball and swing the damn bat for a change.

if you take a called third strike, then go sit on the bench and let somebody who wants to play ball, play ball.

I want to see some hard hit line drives through gaps, unless it looks like the wind is blowing balls out of the park.  Then aim for the fence, if and only if, you made an A in Trig, Pre-Cal, or Physics.  In other words, if you understand angles and leverage.

EDIT:  It doesn't sound like it's going out of the park today with the heavy air, unless the wind is blowing out like a hurricane.

Let's play ball, gentlemen!

Hook 'em!

I agree with you, but this is not going to happen with Augie ball....

Uh oh. Slim's off his meds again. Nurse... Come quick!

yep.  time to step out of character and take some hacks, street.  insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.  let's change it up for a game see what happens.

if we get guy on first, let's try a steal, or a butcher boy play, or a hit and run for a change.  give up NO free outs this game.  let's use all 27 of those suckers.

and for God's sake, if we get a lead off man on second, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT GIVING UP AN OUT TO GET HIM TO THIRD UNLESS ITS IN THE 8TH OR 9TH INNING.

i want to see some f'king crooked numbers dammit.  Picket fences ain't gettin' it done.

Actually I'm on your side. Gm 1, first inning, 2 on nobody out and we take the bat out of Payton's hand. Next guy K and then comes out 3.
