Lots of stuff going down in the NFL today

Busy day today in NFL land so here's the run-down:

  • Desean Jackson signed a 5 year deal with the Eagles woth 51 million. Dude is a stud (and as a Cowboy fan it is tough for me to utter those words).
  • Detroit's pimpadelic wideout Calvin Johnson inked an 7 year contract worth 132 million. Will it do the Lions any good? No. Even with a progressively better team they still will not amount to much.
  • Payton Hillis signed a deal with the Chiefs today (pairing him up with Jamaal Charles as the running machine in KC).
  • My late-season fantasy acquisition and former Dallas Cowboy, Laurent Robinson, signed with Jacksonville today. Good thing he got his cash because Blaine Gabbert sucks. Cowboys need good receiver options beyond Dez Bryant and Miles Austin
  • ------------------------------------------------------> THANK GOODNESS JERRY JONES CUT TERRANCE NEWMAN<----------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Peyton Manning was in Nashville talking with Titans administration today. Where he will ultimately end up is anyone's guess. I say all signs point to Miami but who knows.

    COWBOYS ALERT
  • Since Dallas is my team, it is worth noting that the Cowboys added corner Brandon Carr to the team (Nice pickup for the secondary). Carr's teammate in KC, Kyle Orton, signed a 3 year deal with the Boys and will back up Tony Romo. Unrestricted free agent and former Carolina Panther (OL) Mackenzy Bernadeau is now a Cowboy, and Dallas signed fullback Lawrence Vickers (who was with the Texans last year) to a 2 year deal.

A lot of other stuff went down today but those are the things on my brain now.

The Cowboys signed another safety from OU today. Didn't they learn their lesson with Roy williams?

Brodney Pool is a 7 year veteran with old legs. If Dallas wants to impress this year they will have to draft well, which includes corners.
