Looks like Belmont is pulling out all the stops...

When it comes to coaching and developing players, I have two words for people to think about - Tyrone Swoopes.
Who here believes the experience he gained this year was worth giving up a year of eligibility? And he is a prioity project for the coaching staff.
No is the answer to your question. Speaking of Swoopes how many plays has he gotten since his shirt was burned? My friends y'all have a great day

So where are Jamail and McCombs at this point, in terms of backing Mack?
If JJ and Red are the UT homers they have always claimed to be, then they will put the needs of THE UNIVERSITY over their own personal agendas...I would hope they would whole heartedly support the next coaching administration as they have the current one...if they wish to take their endowments away there are plenty of deep pocketed UTExes who will step up to the plate

I disagree. Outside of the QB position, Texas is as talented top to bottom as any team in the Big 12.
Coaching and Player Development is night and day different. But lets look at play on the field last night/this year and what position groups are better.

QB - haha, lets move on

RB - tie, MB is a stud & (with a healthy JG) but Bu has good depth and very good talent also

OL - Bu slight edge especially if healthy

WR - Bu wins bc their guys are better. #5 made some great grabs last night and their best WR is out.

DL - Texas, better athletes, better depth

LB - Baylor, they make plays and both teams best LB is out

DB - Baylor. we are not even DBU in our own conference anymore

Go back about a year ago and I probably had hundreds of conversations about why we were not bringing in another QB. Time I wish I had back now because it's just futile. Going all-in on Ash was just completely unnecessary. An unbelievably poor strategy. A JUCO QB - even if he turned out to be little more than serviceable - was a no-brainer. And here we are.

A JUCO QB we couldnt get is going to play for the National Championship.
Shhh... don't remind me.. and hell Bo would have been good to...

We passed on Beau Wallace two years ago and he wanted to come. Last year we passed on Keith Marshall and he might have come too.

Of course now we have a year where they are few if any JUCO QBs available on the level of those guys. Hopefully we can find a graduate QB like Chuckie Keaten or the Cook kid from FSU to give us something else.

Keeton's knee is a huge issue, but Id like to see him brought in by whoever is running the place for at least an insurance policy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I see to remember our staff chatting with Nick Marshall about playing........wait for it.......safety. Mack can spin it all he wants, but the bottom line is he flat out blew it on qb evaluations and recruiting starting with RG3, Manziel, Luck, etc. etc. and now Marshall. Ironically all were apparently deemed to be DB material except for Luck.

Texas probably has more talent that Baylor, what Texas doesn't have is any kind of a QB to use that talent. Had Texas had Nick Florence as their QB yesterday, Texas would have won.
