After reading Chips article evaluating Mack this morning , I believe that Belmont might just be trying to get Mack to decide quickly. If you're like me and feel that Chip has at least had some influence from within the athletic department, then you might just be like me and feel that, after this article (coupled with Bohls'), they might just be trying to get this over with ASAP.

Just a thought.

I'll have to go and read the article.....

But I suspect his analysis is in line with mine.

"It's over, now get the F@#K out".

It could not be more over. Texas had the talent to win yesterday. The difference was 100% coaching.

i agree but talent? um no baylor is deeper then we are...i mean name any other d1 school whos qb wouldnt start over mccoy? recruiting since 08 has been awful its caught up to us in a bad way.. yes coaching is awful but ut lacks talent to win the wac at the moment!

You can't denigrate the talent level of the entire team merely because of Case. Sure, he's obviously the primary reason we lost. But the fact that QB is the most important position doesn't arbitrarily lower the talent of the rest of the team.

The nail head has been hammered

Texas has to solidify the next recruiting class and let potential recruits know who will be around in 2014, also the NFL coaching carousel has begun,

SO if its not NS, then UT will have to make a choice before the choice is made for them

Even though Texas has the class to allow Mack to go out on his terms,he will be given Option A or You leave us no choice

your analysis is way too simplistic based on Case. Texas, by any objective measure, has more raw talent (that coming into the program). Developing, coaching and implementing it, on the other hand, is a whole different deal. The end product can make talent levels look very deceiving.

The difference yesterday was more about recruiting than coaching, and particularly quarterback recruiting.

Imagine Gus Malzan running this offense? How about Mykela Thompson, Swoopes or Overstreet running zone read with Daje Johnson and Malcomb Brown in the backfield. There is plenty of talent there to move the ball against the defenses we faced this year. No 85 Bears on our schedule.

I disagree. Outside of the QB position, Texas is as talented top to bottom as any team in the Big 12.

Agree. It's not the players, but the coaching and preparation.

When it comes to coaching and developing players, I have two words for people to think about - Tyrone Swoopes.

Who here believes the experience he gained this year was worth giving up a year of eligibility? And he is a prioity project for the coaching staff.

Great example.

This was the perfect example of why you need a capable backup/alternative at every position. The fact that we have nothing st QB is inexcusable. It was clear very early on that Case could not handle the conditions yesterday.

It's a little strange that Chip tries to make it out like powers is the only one that matters.

Just not true

So where are Jamail and McCombs at this point, in terms of backing Mack?
