Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

We all would do well to lower our expectations.  After last night there are no games that are guaranteed.  Last night was a sobering reminder for me to not think more of the Longhorns than I should.  That’s on me.

Agreed - fans were too harsh on Hudson Card ever since the offseason. He would have a much higher passing completion rate than Quinn Ewers. Quinn will be good in long term but this year was too rushed for Quinn
I feel too many fans feel like you, that Quinn has a higher ceiling. Fortune tellers.

I have to disagree. I saw Worthy quit on routes at least three times. Those were catchable balls that he just gave up on. I saw drops by multiple receivers.

So, no, it wasn't 100% on Quinn.

And no, Card can't handle the full playbook because he's weak on the deep ball. Nothing has changed since he proved that. Everyone saw that.
Everyone, not just you, piling on Worthy. None of us are close enough to know what’s going on.

Definitely not all on Quinn, the same thing happens to everyone that’s a QB sometimes.

Card can sling the ball 70 yards, but he generally aims it and that causes time. We certainly don’t lose anything on Quinn’s deep game.

Don't beat yourself up too much. That was the best team we've faced this season and we kept them 20+ its below their scoring average. I hate that we lost, but losing to an undefeated TCU is not the worst thing.

The Longhorns are in a funk right now, offensively. I think we'll pull out of it Saturday.

Problem is, it's as if only one side of the ball can play well a game.  It's either the D or the O.  Ok, OU it was both, but that was also helped by a QB couldn't hit water from a boat.  Would love to see one more game this season where all 3 phases are solid.

That is something I do need to mention.  I was absolutely proud of the way our defense played.  Those guys on that side of the ball were awesome. I loved the aggressive play calling by PK as well.  Wow can’t believe I just said that.

After checking TCU schedule and scores, Texas scored less points than anyone. Even twopowerhousedColorado and Tartlion state scored more.

I doubt that either Colorado or Tarlton were circled on TCUs calendar and can guarantee that we were; we've got their old coach, are leaving the Big 12 (at some point) and we're Texas, not to mention that the win clinched a conference championship berth and that there were playoff implications...we were going to get their best game.  We might as well get used to it, no one's happy that we're leaving the conference and we're going to get everyone's best game every week.

Sad, but true. Offense is about execution. And they did not execute. They are young, and I see some improvement in some areas, but it has not jelled into a single unit

Does Texas win with a senior QB?

Does tcu lose playing a red shirt freshman QB?
