Those things are good but let’s not ignore he dropped a lot of passes last year. Sure Ewers has thrown bad passes but he had his fair share of drops.

On the cripples a lot have it happen not only at Austin but else where.Only Watts among the transfers hasreally been a big help.

I need no explanation of my position. And I don't care a tinkers damm on what players do atGeorgia. It what they do at Texas that mattersAnd We improved from last year. That did not take too much. Hod didwe do compared to the terrible coach (glad he isgone) to 3-4 years back. I would say we have regressed.

HopeHorns win all games this season, but excuse me if I have to see it happen first.
At least we know how you think. lol

You have my blessing to wait 7-8 months before you're able to form an opinion on this team. But I don't think you'll wait 7-8 months to have an opinion. It sounds good today though. lol

Did you miss the part where he had a broken hand? That could explain why he quit on certain passes. I'm not absolving him of his transgressions last year, but you can't deny his place in the UT hierarchy.

It's true that we have had more then our fair share of apparent tsllent wasted over rescent years so your skepticism is natural.

I think the biggest problems on offense going back to the last years of Mack Brown has been lackluster offensive lines. That problem appears to have been addressed with the current staff. This team seems to have all of the tallent needed to win it all. If the staff is as good as advertised at developing players and game planning then we are looking at a nice run going forward. On the other hand we suck until we don't.
We’ve had a fair amount of disappointments on defense too.  We’ve always recruited well on defense since Mack left generally. Many of our 5-stars did not live up to the billing.    Not blaming them as I think are strength and development and coaching along with coaching and scheme changes.

we haven’t had 5 star talent at the Oline in a very long time, 5 star talent at QB in a long time, or a big time TE.   We had those things in the 2000s.   We’ve been okay/good at RB and WR but generally only had one good player at each of those positions and then there was a big drop off.  Any injury would destroy us.  Sark has made the offense much deeper now and this is why I think we are turning the corner.

I understand that but still no excuses on him. He dropped passes that hit his hands. He still needs to prove it more before he’s considered a first rounder.

I played TE for three years. I can't imagine trying to catch a ball with my hands at velocity with a broken hand.

Just a observation if his broke hand was interfering with catching the ball, then some one else should have been playing.
We have a winner. Exactly.

Apparently, the WR coach, OC and HC thought the kid with the broken hand was better at catching than those down the depth chart. I don't think that was a good move.

Not saying much for other WRS. If good enough to be recruited should be better than a hurt player. Not good to play hurt, ask Dizzy Dean.
If the medical staff had ANY concerns that Worthy playing would cause long term problems , then it's very hard to believe that he would be willing to play or that the coaches would let him play.

any player worth his salt would wantto play. Hurt or not. As for as the coaches playing a hurt player I have no idea. Some would to win and some would not,

The talent has not come in like it has under Sark since DKR. I think that's the head-scratching that you're causing with your "please me or be done with you" approach. Even in the short time he's been here, we've seen big time development under Sark. Players improve here now.

You're free to think what you like, but it seems foolish not to see the differences, if we truly did pay attention to teams of the past. I did. And I see a much different football program now.
Give Mack some credit for bringing in the kids he did in the early 2000 time period. The 2005 NC team was stacked with talent on both sides of the ball. Then he got lazy (he admitted that) and after losing to Bama tried to change his team on the fly which started his downfall here at Texas.

Yea, until proven otherwise, the current Texas roster is not on the same level as the 2005 roster.

I mean we are talking about a team that had 32 players appear in an NFL game and had 17 of 22 starters from the national championship game go on to the NFL.

Players want to play for sure. And playing  injured with pain is definitely part of the deal.

But when the nature of the injury is that playing is likely to create long term problems then the coaches definitely shouldn't allow the player to play, and if they did it could harm the player, the program and the coaches career. I would assume that given Worthy's potential NFL future he wouldn't play AGAINST medical advice,  no matter how much he was wanting to play.
