Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

From earlier today. Dane is one of the best when it comes to draft coverage and analysis. While things can certainly change once the season concludes its interesting that this is taking place.

That's part of Orlando's system. The DE's play 4i which is the inside shoulder of the OT. 4 would be head to head and 5  is the outside shoulder.
I’m no OL guru but doesn’t that make the OT’s job a lot easier in pass blocking?

I don't know anything about Dane, but it seems to me like he's reading too much into the fact that no juniors are being honored for senior day. I would take that to mean that none of the possibly-NFL-bound juniors have made a final decision, which seems to be exactly what we knew before.

Also, it sounds like there's at least 1 scholarship junior (Cameron Townsend) who will be honored on Senior Day, so I guess he's forgoing his final year of eligibility.

As he said, time will tell. I think LJ is the least likely of the bunch to stay at this point and he has folks around him encouraging him to leave.

Dane is pretty plugged in and does good work, which is why my ears perked up when he said there was buzz all three could stay put. We shall see.

If 2 out of 3 stay I'll be happy.

I wonder who that could be?  He's a Southlake kid, money isn't an issue.  There is simply no reason for him to chase the bag unless he want's out.

I thought the same of Connor Williams considering he was a Coppell kid.  We see how that worked out.  I hope LJH stays.  If he and Collin return, with Jake Smith in the slot, the offense will be lights out!!!  \\m//

I don't see that as a good comparison, He wanted out.  There was some disconect with he and the staff.

Plus Connor guaranteed to make over $3 million in the next 4 years. I don’t see how you turn that down even if your family has a little money.

that is all well and good, but I want someone to explain to me how in hell we can give up 600 yds of ffense and stillnwn a game.

It’s apparently a weak year at the position draft class wise so that could be playing a factor. I don’t think he just wants out because if that was the case he would have already rendered a decision or word would have started to trickle down.

The comparison with Connor Williams is actually a very good one.

There was no rift between CW and staff. His draft status was going to get no higher than it was and he was fresh off a pretty serious injury. The injury, and the peak of his draft value, were the factors there.

LJH's draft stock is going to soar because he's very good, a rare combination of size and speed, and like Daniel said, not a strong class coming out. If this continues, he would be downright foolish not to explore it.

Iowa State RB Tyler Montgomery will miss the first half of Saturday's game due to the scuffle at the end of the ISU-Baylor game where he was ejected.

I know you have a buddy, but I was told throughout most of the season, he wasn't high on the staff.  My ears are around daily, close to Chip and company.  I agree on the rest, but he had no desire to return.
