Live updates from The Opening: Day 4

Tell me about Hines being on the fringe of committing. Please.
I personally haven't heard he was about to commit, he actually just dropped his top 10. He is one of the guys I have yet to track down, but I have heard that he may make UTL and go to A&M the following day for their event.

Spoke to someone close to Anthony Hines. He's it a maybe for UTL. It will depend if the A&M BBQ is indeed on the 24th and not the 23rd. If he can't make it for UTL I was told they plan to get down to Austin before the end of the summer.

Ehlinger's team took the L against Chris Robison's team in the semis. They will have one more chance to advance to the title game.

After speaking with someone close to Marvin Wilson out here I can tell you he has a great support system around him. When a decision gets made it won't be done hastily and he has good, savvy people around him to lean on.

I was also able to speak with quarterback guru George Whitfield for a little bit and got his thoughts on Ehlinger. He said that Sam has been tipping his hand to the defense with something in his upper body throwing motion so that may explain some of his struggles out here.

If there is anyone that knows QBs, it's Whitfield.

Sounds like he considers the aggy event more important than ours. Me no likey.

Not necessarily. I was told that he had already blown off one of their events so he is going to make this one. I talked to one of Aggie writers here and he told me the event is on the 24th so if that's the case he could make both.

Alabama commit Tua Tagovailoa is the real deal. He is absolutely shredding Ehlinger's squad right now. Sam didn't play the first half, so I expect him to get some reps in the second, but it's going to take a miracle after what happened in half #1.

By he way I mentioned it on earlier, but I will say it again here. When I talked to Walker Little and asked him who he would compare his game to he told me Trent Williams.

Williams just happens to be here taking in the event and has worked with Little so I asked him about Walker. The All Pro tackle heaped tons of praise on Little as a prospect and when guys like him are giving you props, you know you are doing something right.

Made contact with Anthony Hines following the conclusion of the event. He tells me making it to UTL is a definite possibility. Will have more from him later on.

I know this is asking for A LOT, but for 2017 I would love to see Texas pick up (by that I mean I WANT) Browning, Hines, Little, Wilson and Manning to this class. Anything else is gravy. Ok, a flip of Dobbins and a committ of Okudah and Moses would be epic.

Not going to say they are going to land all of those guys in that first grouping, but if anyone is going to be capable of pulling that off, it's Texas.

I've written off Moses in my mind and I think Okudah is going out of state at this point.

If Texas wins this fall they will be in position to land a lot of these guys.
