Live updates from The Opening: Day 4

The interview of Omar Manning will be up in a bit, but two big tidbits:

1. He confirmed he will be at Under The Lights

2. He will be releasing his top 5 sometime before the season and when I asked him if Texas would make that top 5 he said they would.

Quarterbacks and receivers are back at it this morning. Omar Manning is going thru drills today so he seems to be okay, but apparently he took a football to the face and needed to go see the trainer.

The rest of the players will be checking in today, but we won't have access to them until tomorrow when testing kicks off.

Morning practice has concluded. Caught up with Sam and asked who he would compare his game to.

As a runner: Tim Tebow

As a passer: Drew Brees.

Also there was a report out yesterday citing he had an injury. He's perfectly fine and he took all of his reps today.

Sam's personal trainer actually made the trip out, so I would think he would get shut down in a hurry if he was nursing an injury on his throwing shoulder.

Also people asked me about Tyrell Shavers on Twitter yesterday. After a brief discussion with him today he is pretty firm to Alabama and Texas doesn't seem to be contacting him that much right now.

Testing is underway out here this morning. I'm surrounded by future NFL players.

First little tidbit I've picked up is that Marvin Wilson is a most likely for Under The Lights. Would be big to get him to campus.

Hearing that media gets a mere 15 mins at 5 PM for interviews. Is that what you're hearing Daniel?

JK Dobbins ripped off a 4.45 on his second 40. And he wasn't satisfied with it.

Dylan Moses went 4.5 flat. DAYUM.

Not a Texas target, but Tyjon Lindsey formally of Bishop Gorman went 3.86 on the shuttle. That's nuts.

JK Dobbins brings home the title this morning with a Nike Rating of 146.76. Jeffrey Okudah was the runner up.

Someone (ahem Daniel) needs to inform JK Dobbins that history suggests Urban Meyer will not be around Ohio State for JK's entire collegiate career.  He was at Bowling Green and Utah for two years each.  He was at Florida for six seasons before his "retirement".  He has now been at Ohio State four seasons.  Assuming JK did not see the light and Urban didn't already bolt, he would be showing up at Ohio State for Urban's sixth and final season if history tells us anything.  Why not get on board the train with Charlie Strong that is gaining momentum than to join the backside of Urban's time at OSU?
