Still in the early stages right now. We paused a bit to get the site on a server with more resources.

Close. We are trying to integrate that with the big server upgrade. You'll notice it.

Having developed in PHP (yeah I know) for about 15 years the main thing I learned is that it can be pretty inefficient by default. Once you get the bigger server and maybe some tuning in the php.ini or htaccess (if not done already) things should smooth out. vBulletin is a bit of a resource hog on the DB side, especially as the traffic goes higher.

Doing the right thing waiting until the new server comes in. Honestly I would get it moved over and running for a few days to make sure everything is base-lined. Then get the new features started. Just my opinion.

Great minds think alike. That's exactly my plan. I am in the process now of migrating data over to get the LAMP stack running properly. It's a process, but we are moving along great.
