On this day 72 years ago 1500 men and women died in the attack on Pearl Harbor.

And thank you to every one who served.

I have been fortunate to meet many GREAT men from Pearl Harbor as well as others from the greatest generation ever including crew from the Enola Gay, USS Indianapolis, men that stormed the beaches of France and The Southern Pacific, and the Desert Rats. If you want to be in awe, spend a little time w/ one of these magnificent men and if you're lucky they may tell a story or two...

So few of them left to tell the tale, and what an awesome thing it is to hear them tell it.

Makes a grown man cry...those men experienced Hell and some were fortunate to return.

My dad is 90 and served in WWII in the army. Spent most of his time in Africa. He never wants to talk about it. I call him and thank him for his service every Veteran's Day. I thank God we had such a strong generation of men willing to serve at a time our country and the world needed them.

My dad is our family hero fought in 13 battles in the Pacific served in the Navy in a UDT outfit. He could never talk about what he did was happy he lived to come home. My friends y'all have a great weekend.

I stood at the Arizona Memorial a number of years ago and was in awe of what that generation died for and lived through.

Have the issue knife of a US Marine who fought from Guadalcanal to Iwo Jima. The blade is stained black with the blood of the Japanese. That's history right in your face folks.
