From Kirk Bohls Texas AD Steve Patterson tells me he offered "one person" the job in Strong, says Alabama's Nick Saban was never a candidate for job.

I wonder why Patterson mentioned Saban specifically but no others? I wonder what message he is trying to get across. Lets discuss because I find in very interesting

There were several reports that said Saban had a contract in front of him. I'd consider that an offer.

Saban and Patterson are friends. Could be he put that out there for his buddy so nobody would question his loyalty after these events. Purely speculation on my part. I honestly do not know.

Being presented with an unsigned draft is not a done deal. Patterson meet with Saban on Friday and decided not to offer him the job and wen twitch Strong instead.

It's really not that hard to understand, is it?

The whole truth may never come to light. But I don't care at this point.

He is trying to make this process look less like a cluster#$%%@ and more like a well oiled machine. It is all about controlling the narrative.

There was way too many people with connections and even the over-cautious Chip and OB saying that there was something to it.

But what purpose does it seve now. No need to mention it now. Just seems weird to me. That is all. Based on EVERY REPORT from the national media there was NO chance saban was coming here so it really serves no purpose to say that.

If you would read that with a clear mind, you would notice that Patterson said "he" only offered one candidate. That right there should tell you that Saban had a deal on the table before Patterson even came upon the scene, period! Not that hard to understand. We shared that weeks ago in Crossfire

Was he questioned specifically about Saban? If so that may be why he brought it up.

It was a dig at Briles and Mora, who said they removed themselves as candidates, ie: didn't get an interview/wouldn't interview.

Okay, disregard my other thread. Did not see this one.

Very well could be this!
