Reports this morning indicate Florida AD Jeremy Foley will not fire Will Muschamp and he will return for 2014. Past that, no one is safe as its expected for Muschamp to fire several staff members in the wake of what is a disastrous season.

To go 11-2 to 4-8. Ouch. Their QB situation is worse than Texas.

Muschamp should be on the market for the best offensive mind he can find to come to Florida, even if it is only for 1-3 years and promise him the world, otherwise his tenure as the Florida head coach is dicey at best after next season. Harsin and Pease have had some really bad luck with QBs since they left Boise that completely negates the system they run.

To my knowledge Coach Boom never threw his staff under the bus to the media. He's been quick to say the buck stops with him. He doesn't pout. He just gets pissed off. I expect him to work hard at correcting whatever ills the Gators.

50% chance Applewhite goes to Florida?

Major at Florida would be an interesting proposition, and Muschamp would let him run the show without a net. Applewhite also has experience with less than elite talent at the QB position.

Could be a good marriage for them both. Always thought Majors best shot at really coming into is own is getting away from Austin.

Muschamp isnt going to get a top notch guy to jump ship when he himself is on a hot seat. A guy like Major is about as good as hes going to get.

Then Muschamp might as well start looking for a new job. He better turn things around next year to show that 2013 was a fluke, or else kiss his job goodbye.

That's a DeLOSS Dudd style folly in general. We'll see what happens next year.

Here is what he has at QB next year (class updated for accurracy):

19 Ryan McGriff QB 6' 0" 203 RJR SQ Gainesville/Gainesville

9 Jacob Guy QB 6' 5" 210 RSO SQ Dade City/Pasco

6 Jeff Driskel QB 6' 4" 239 SR 2L Oviedo/Hagerty

12 Max Staver QB 6' 6" 238 SO HS Brentwood, Tenn./Brentwood Academy

13 Christian Provancha QB 6' 6" 223 RSR SQ Cocoa/Cocoa Beach

3 Tyler Murphy QB 6' 2" 210 RSR SQ Wethersfield, Conn./Wethersfield

17 Skyler Mornhinweg QB 6' 2" 214 RSO SQ Philadelphia, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep

14 Chris Wilkes QB 6' 4" 230 RFR HS Orlando/Dr. Phillips

And currently committed for 2014:

XX Will Grier QB 6' 2" 177 FR HS Davidson, NC/Day (Four Star, Dual Threat)

Obviously McGriff and Provancha are cannon fodder if they are upperclassmen and have not seen the field in this disaster.

We've seen what Driskel, Murphy, and Mornhinweg can do.

Guy is interesting. He was a three star who had offers from the likes of Colgate and three other low end FBS schools. Made claims of strong interest from several large schools that appeared to be somewhat "enhanced". He was taking visits after the 2012 NSD and ended up walking on at Florida.

Staver was a three star who had offers from Miss St and Louisville.

Wilkes is the most interesting guy for a new OC to take a look at. He is 23, originally committed to Ole Miss out of high school in 2008 and then elected to play baseball for five years. Walked on at Florida. The guy apparently has a MONSTER arm, but needed quite a bit of work after being out of football so long.
