Then is the rumor referring to someone else on our defensive staff or is the entire rumor put to rest?

Latest is that it is not put to rest. Rumph to Fla is a possibility but hope Texas does what it needs to to end that soon. 

Edit: apparently there is a report that no contact has been made btw Florida and Rumph yet. Rumors as of now but that could change.

Recruiting wasn't the only reason as some people & site's are suggesting. There are other subplots at work.

First off, I think CS has us heading in the right direction for the long run. However this season has had plenty of issues that were on the coaching staff and I think CS is aware. It takes a while to build the cohesion, not only with the team, but the coaching staff as well. From what I have seen there has been several times when they were not on the same page. To truly succeed that will have to change. You can't expect cohesion with the team, if the staff is not all on the same page.

In my opinion, what you are seeing now is CS trying to correct that issue. Honestly, I think that what we are seeing in public is only a small part of what is going on behind closed doors. I think CS is re-shaping things to get everyone in line with each other.

Chambers deserved to be fired. Boulware would be a homerun hire IMO. Very good TE coach, but also an elite special teams coach. OU was a dumpster fire on special teams before they got Boulware. 

Koenning is interesting. I actually thought he did a decent job this year with the WRs. I can understand making the move from a recruiting standpoint though. I've never been sold on Wyatt, I would go after Levine. Granted, Wyatt might land us Lodge.

OB is reporting that some sources indicate USF WR coach, Duggans, who coached WRs at Loiusville under Strong, may be likely to replace Koenning.

No surprise to me. That's the way Strong has gone with most of his hires...people he is comfortable coaching with.

How long do you think this coaching search will take? I know most Head Coaches keep a short and long list of coaches they like. I hope this wouldn't take to long with a month to go before signing day.
