This is in the thread about JS has outed Air Coryell & as we all suspected it is Chris Jesse.(Sally's son)

We gave been asking ketch for years to tell the whole story. He kept promising but never did. Turns out all you need is an IT sub to find out. Seems like ketch never went through with the promise to tell as a favor to Belmont, for more access I presume. Hence Chip turning into belmonts mouthpiece.

1. Kiss my ass. I don't care if you leave or not. You are speaking out of your ass without any knowledge of what it smells or sounds like.

2. We've confirmed numerous times that it was Jesse and it was even addressed in a locker room question.

Orangebloods is dying a slow death from within. Seems more and more Ketch cannot get out of his own way. I read the locker room regularly and don't remember him ever outing Air Coryell. Anyone else?

I have seen it talked about. It was on a thread about asking him anything. May have been other times too.

I will take your word for it, Hello Nasty. I guess I missed it. I don't know why he has to blast a customer over it.

Seems like it's getting really tense on the message boards these days!!

He really has a problem when he has to interact with paying customers :-)
Glad to see it wasn't just me. I got some seething e-mails from the the rotund bald one.

I know Beam & Coke and he has always spoken very complimentary of Ketch & Orangebloods in the past. It is unfortunate to see it come to that.

Seems to me that he was replying in kind. I'm not suggesting that his board is always forthcoming, but he didn't do anything the poster didn't ask for. Being accused of something you didn't do is reasonable grounds to get testy.

Do you really think a guy that would steal money from a Golf tournament to pay off debts would care about what a paying customer thinks?

Don't think we need to be throwing out personal attacks.. Especially one of this magnitude.

My biggest gripe with that site is the sloth and laziness that permeates the ownership/moderators. Ketch - who always identifies himself now as a journalist - can't spell and won't proofread. I know it's a small thing but it bugs the hell out of me. Suchomel may be the least informed person on a Texas website. Chip Brown is down to Plonsky as his last source and she will make him dance when it suits her. I actually think all of those guys are pretty miserable about what they do, although you would think the checks Ketch is cashing would make him pretty happy.

That site can be had. It's got the eyeballs but the content is second-rate. Virtually every single intelligent or informed poster has left. Orangebloods is closer to a tipping point than not. But Mack Brown's departure will probably mean some serious $$ for Ketchum in new signups so he's very money good for the next 6 months.

Scipio is the single best writer about Texas sports. Don't even know who's second, but it's well back. But BC is kind of an awkward place and I don't think it's going to get mass numbers. IT has the credibility and the guys running it have good reps; if they can figure it out that's your bet to take down OB IMO.

If you make a statement like that, you better be able to back it up!

I like what we have going here. I think we have a chance to be a serious player in the UT coverage game.

It's off to a good start (although I know you all have been around awhile).

Don't be afraid to evolve. Continue to improve the environment (navigation, boards etc). Some sites have done some good things - don't hesitate to copy what works. I typically come to this one forum. How would you make it easier and more compelling for me to use more of the site? That's how you really get leverage. Don't ignore basketball (good job engaging shaunsters) or baseball (McComas is pretty good there and Ketch finally figured that out). If Plonsky gets the boot or reassigned jump on women's sports because that could be a great story if they get their shit together. Don't ever allow an echeese to get 80K+ posts while pissing all over every subject he doesn't like. Get a diversity of opinions, but keep the juvenile stuff to a minimum or give them their own forum.

2 cents.

And don't talk about how bad other sites are. Show off what you have here. Let the product speak for itself.

If you give people a chance for good conversations about a topic they care about I think they'll respond. I live in SF; there aren't a lot of people around here who care about my alma mater. Figure out what it is that causes good conversations and threads to go south; I'd be a heavy-handed moderator for anything that corrupts that and be laissez faire about everything else. Raise the civility level (and I too am capable of being a jerk, but if they're defending GDGD I think it's justified) and let the dumbasses know it's not acceptable. Katy had a heavy hand on HornFans; frankly it was ridiculous but some people probably need that kind of supervision.

3 cents.
