The Texas Longhorns (14-8, 4-5) played toe-to-toe with the Kansas Jayhawks (19-3, 8-1) for the better part of thirty minutes, but down the stretch Bill Self’s squad proved too much. After taking a 33-31 halftime lead, Texas gave way to a Jayhawk scoring surge in the final ten minutes that notched Kansas a 69-58 victory at Allen Fieldhouse.
Matt Coleman scored 20 points and Jericho Sims dropped 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in the loss.
Texas shot 37.7% from the floor compared to Kansas’ 48.1%.
The Longhorns will host Texas Tech on Saturday in hopes of getting back to .500 in Big 12 play.
