Just do it. Hand him a check, call him a cab, and ask him to leave.

I would call Powers' bluff in a heart beat. Patterson just got the job. Firing Mack on performance basis would be entirely normal course of business. Mack didn't even come close to reaching his own standard.Powers doesnt want to and Patterson is scared to go against his boss. My question is....Can the BOR directly fire the head coach? Or o hey have to fire Powers which would allow it to happen?
Because, just like Mack, he values personal friendship and loyalty more than putting the best football product possible on the field. Yes, it is a very unique (and dysfunctional obviously) situation when you have a guy who can threaten withholding a $1B donation just to get his way representing your football coach against the University. What if JJ is also threatening to change his will and cut out UT from big bucks. That could be what is driving Powers. I still have a hard time understanding how JJ can be such a big supporter of the University and at the same time be representing MB.
It's not the court case nearly as much as it would be losing Jamail's $1b donation. This is why Mack was so defiant and certain he would never get fired. He had Jamail and Powers willing to go to any lengths to prevent that from happening.powers should have fired him yesterday. it was that simple.
worry about court case later. just do it for texas sense. i want that hack gone.
Thought it was $150,000,000It's not the court case nearly as much as it would be losing Jamail's $1b donation. This is why Mack was so defiant and certain he would never get fired. He had Jamail and Powers willing to go to any lengths to prevent that from happening.
That's what he's already given...the other figure is an estimate on what he's got written in his will to donate to UT when he passes. It's a great way to have people jump as long as you are alive.Thought it was $150,000,000
I'm sorry but we have to take back our university. This is not his university. Mack does not run this university. We need to continue the effort to get that SOB gone. He costed us Saban.
