JT Barrett commits to Ohio State today

...and Urban Meyer is all smiles. Barrett was the other name mentioned in the '13 class along side Tyrone Swoopes. The debate went on for quite some time about which player Texas would select and , well, we know they offered Swoopes. Swoopes was the right offer IMO but the Buckeyes got a heck of a player in Barrett.

Dual threat qb with arguably better passing skills than Swoopes. Like I said I'll take Swoopes over any qb in the '13 class any day but expect to hear Barret's name a lot in the next 3-4 years.

We made the right choice with Swoopes without question. Barrett has a ton of potential but Swoopes can come in and make an immediate impact. Ash gets it together this season and Swoopes will have a nice long career at Texas that includes multiple national championships.

Both QB's need work but JT is further along with his passing than Tyrone. Swoopes is a VY clone and they have very similar passing mechanics. He will be a very good college player for Texas.

Tyrone Swoopes is 6'5, 225. Great arm strength and more mobile than Verizon. We got the right guy.
