Barnes told Abrams he was the worst defensive player he had ever seen. the next year, he apologized to Abrams and told Durant HE was the worst.
neither of those guys was so traumatized his offense suffered. this "Barnes is too tough" stuff is hilarious.

You would think that maybe some of these kids just might understand "The Coaching Experience!" Maybe for those who don't, we should establish "The Annual Worst Defensive Player EVAH!" award. It could compete for relevancy with "The Annual DogHouse Player of the Year" award. We could give them out at "The Annual Poopie Awards Show". Let's see ... who could we tap as the Master of Ceremonies?

For 99% of these guys, coming to college is the first time they are coached. They didn't get much in HS since they were the best player on the team or in the district or even state in some cases, and definitely didn't get coached in AAU and its a culture shock coming to Texas because Barnes isn't going to coddle players or sugar-coat it. He is blunt and going to tell guys what he thinks whether they like it or not. Some guys will take what he says and change what they are doing, other guys have the mindset of "the way I played is what got me here, why do I need to change?"

James Dickey has stepped down as the coach at Houston. Sounds like those House rumors might be true.

Some interesting news in the Big 12 today too. Eron Harris is transferring from WV, didn't see that coming. Averaged 10 points per game this year for WV. Pretty big blow IMO.
