A real quick update (which isn't really and update), but our source close to John Burt's recruitment reiterated to me again yesterday that the coaching staff is EXTREMELY confident (x10) that John Burt is staying with Texas.

Wanted to pass that along, as someone PM'ed me asking about it.

A week ago I would never have believed it but its looking more and more like we are going to run out of spots

Burt is a huge talent - so keeping him is definitely a plus - but we're going to run out of spots. Who is going to get left out?

Aggy staff thought MJ was a sure thing too, so take it all with a grain of salt. These are 18 year olds.

The Longhorns are going to likely have some late decommitments. One, maybe two. Burt is a tremendous talent that the Longhorns need at wide receiver. It's going to work out in the end, I doubt we are going to lose out on a top prospect because Strong refuse to open a spot.

We are going to have a few decommits or are we going to get a few decommiting from other schools?

That's a lofty expectation.  Especially with Muschamp getting on board with Auburn..

GREAT news Aaron... we all have been a little concerned about him...

My suspicion is that Newsome had better get on board before the train leaves the station. With the momentum we have, some are going to get left out.

But to keep the MO, we need to win next Monday.

Which receiver is better? Burt or Lodge.
I think you might be splitting hairs because both have roughly the same measurables. It's possible to lose both but it's obvious that John Burt is unsure about his soft commitment. If he really didn't want to be here, he would have committed to the Auburn Tigers a while ago. He is going to be pushed by both staffs when the contact period opens up to make a call between the two.

Either way, it's going to be an interesting finish to the recruiting season.
