Joe Jamail crossed the line

I have no problem with him defending his friend, but neither he or his friend are bigger than Texas football. When JJ and Mack are gone, the school and the football team will still be here. The money he is giving the university is nice and all but that doesn't give him a free pass to insult rabid fans for having the audacity to demand a higher standard for the money being shelled out.

People like him just need a good @ss whoopin. That's the only way to put him in his place. Just because he has lots of money he thinks he can do and say what he wants. He is pure garbage.

The Field our players play on has his name on it. Garbage?

Money got his name on the field. To say the things he says and the threats he makes is garbage. Btw, there's been a lot of garbage football on that field lately.

The same "Money" will be the ones to bring Nick Saban to Texas. I understand your frustration with it but this is a guy that has provided tremendous opportunities for The University.

So because he provided "tremendous" opportunities, he can shit on the memories of thousands of Americans by trivializing their deaths as an example of a fan base sick of his best friends crap but too poor and divided to do anything about it?

You are missing the forest for the trees Aaron. He is NOT a God, and a guy who wore a uniform should know that.

This is not an argument the few of you who want to idolize him are going to win with majority of this board. Best to close this up and move on before it gets nasty.

You can compare me to nearly any name in the book, but to call me an aggy; them fightin words right there. Comparing me to a member of the taliban or al qaeda is a slap in the face to my service and. People have the right to respect this man for whatever reasons, but for me, no thanks.

I will say he sure does have a set of cohones on him.

I'm responding to the quote above. Not the breadth of the thread.

And I take issue with the "The few of you who want to idolize him............." quote. I don't have to idolize Joe Jamail to recognize what he has done for The University. I'm not sure I see your point.

Being a rich man means you dont have to face the common man for your actions.
Think about this...what if that quote...no matter how much it offended you personally....was intended to help get Saban here...do you still feel the same way? Jamail is playing both sides of the deal here. He wants Mack to go out with dignity and he wants Texas to move forward to take it's rightful place at the top of the pantheon of college football. Personally, I really don't care about Mack. He's been far more than well compensated. However, I respect Jamails right to ease his friend out...while still helping us bring in the coach we all want. That's what he's doing in his own way. Don't get so bent out of shape about it. We all want the same thing.

I was looking back in the thread...havent seen you condemn the comment AND (by appearances) rush to defend him, just the rush to (by appearances) defend his actions because he has money. I also base it on things you and I have personally talked about. You take issue with whatever you want.

If you havent been there on the front lines, here or abroad, you wouldnt understand.

Clearly I am far from the only one "offended", and yes, I dont care who he brings here. I dont care how much money he has to seemingly make his antics ok. There are things you don't do, and that is one of them. I dont care how many figures or conjectures you want to throw out there, you wont change my opinion about it.

As I said a few posts ago, best to move on.

Speechless.
