Its time to fire Strong

From TexLarry   "Strong will leave after the season ends. Excellent source."

The phrase "Im pissed. I'm stunned. It's Mack Brown" was TexLarry. He's been right about a ton of stuff, but nothing so significant since Mack Brown.
Mack is the only thing I can remember folks giving him some credit for.  Man, a lot has changed since then.

A poster on the shag is saying the ob insiders jffcruise and lamar littrell agree with him. I don't know anything about those guys but I'm guessing they're credible?

So much smoke, its hard to believe there isn't any truth to some of it.

From a poster on IT. I agree 100%

When we say Big Money Donors  I am guessing  that is $10 million or more and since there are not many of those type of Donors I am gussing you don't just well tell them thanks but no thanks ( I cleaned it up a bit).  I know we have several donors that give a million or $500K   but it is the ones that you go to for that BIG Check when it is needed that will decide all of this. They will be the ones asked to foot the bill for the buyout and the next hire!

If we get blown out by Tech then the group of BMD that are creating smoke will build things up to an all out fire storm. Strong wasn't the first, second or third choice for a lot of the BMD but they've played nice for the most part for the sake of the university. I think all that changes if we aren't competitive against Tech. Thanksgiving to Dec 5 will be plenty of time for the BMD to unite and push Charlie out the door.

If I recall correctly, there were not that many BMDs upset about Mack Brown's hiring. Several of them were introduced prior to public announcement. And as you might suspect, Mack had them at "hello."

For the rest of us, MB was a total surprise. Goes to show how much goes on behind the scenes.

For the record, I don't think losing Foreman, Gray and Vahe kills our run attack. I am quite anxious to see Kirk Johnson get his chance. He's got speed we haven't seen out of the TB position in some time. Great hands, too.

I think we have a better than average rushing total against Tech.

I know who jffcruise is. If he's saying it, I'm as inclined to believe him as I would be TexLarry.

I don't know anything about lamar littrell other than he seems to be connected.

It's all good with me if they want to throw their money at Strong then get with the administration and make another big donation before bringing in the next head coach.

Money is persuasive

He very well may get bought out.

Yea I agree I think we will rack up some rushing yards.  Johnson kind of reminds me of Mitchell, in the Thunder and Lightning Days, except with better hands.

Excellent comparison.

I just read an article where Charlie indicated that if they would have coached better, we wouldn't be in this situation. I really respect how I have never seen him blame anyone else. We all agree a lot of this mess was Mack's doing. I remember Charlie saying awhile back that none of this is Mack's fault. It is refreshing in today's time for someone to not look for someone else to blame.

I do think we get another good recruiting class and bring in a hotshot OC, that we should see much improvement.

With all of the HC chatter regarding him being fired, being bought out, staying, or just quitting, I don't see how the recruiting can't become a dumpster fire........Just my 2 cents.

We MUST recruit good or all bets are off. If we bring in new assistant coaches, I would like to see some elite recruiters. Coaches are better coaches with better players. I know Saban it is good coach, but he also gets the best players every year. Just saying

This is all very interesting because the one thing or job hire that is not even being mentioned is the Texas AD job as Perrin has said he is just doing this gig till we make a hire after  football season. How important is that next hire to the entire Texas Athletic program as the last one took less than a year to almost crumble our foundation and fan base! If Charlie is going to be gone after the last game then it is best to go ahead bite down on the stick and yank that arrow as fast as you can.  Recruiting may suffer but if we lose the next two games it would suffer as well and there was sure to be some attrition as Mike Roach said in another post for current players this Spring. Who knows maybe Charlie is more worried that he will be forced to come back for a third year and with that the excuse of not having enough time then is demenished. I am guessing if they do let Charlie go it will be after school is out for the Christmas Holidays and everyone is home including the players so it can be done in a nice quite manner and a new hire will be made before the players and students return.

Consider this - If someone is posting on a public internet blog, what is his motivation?  Is he looking for recognition and/or credibility?  Is he manipulating news?  Is he a poster from another site?  Is he trying to influence recruiting, coaching hires or public opinion?

I've always been suspicious of so called "inside info" posted by anonymous posters.

It's hard enough believing posts by moderators of blog sites.  Because most of their "inside info" is third or fourth hand, as well, and who is to say they were fed the truth?

Look, I know a few connected people, myself, and the "inside info" they supply me is always tainted with their own opinions and of those that told them as well.

As astute observers we must define what we choose to believe and allow events to prove them out - or not.
