No problem. I know it's not wins and losses alone, but a broader improvement. He's achieved in some areas that I think are important, such as the class room, and the level of talent coming in.

You're dead on with your second sentence. The problem though is that we've sucked for two years before Strong even got here. The downhill slide has been going on since 2010. Patience is REALLY wearing thin among those who write checks. They really thought they'd see improvement this season.

Do those who write checks recognize that they could've done something about the slide well before MB was replaced in 2014?  It's much easier to turn a downhill slide around than it is to start an uphill climb from rock bottom and if we weren't at rock bottom we were pretty damn close.  Getting the program back on track was not going to be a 2 year job and if they've got enough football savvy to hire coaches and evaluate the progress of a massive rebuild they should've known that...most of us did.  It'd be a shame if they got rid of him 2 years into what's a least a 3-year job.

I disagree. I think a win on the road in a tough place to play would have really helped. It would give some indication that we're over our "road game issue" as some have pointed to.

Given the fact that we've played one of the toughest schedules in the nation, 6-6 and a bowl game (with good showing) would have probably quieted the herd.

There are bigger things at play than poor play when it comes to poor attendance.  I have season tickets.  Merchandise hasn't and won't fall off and the brand will be back on top.  Foolish decision can also send it further into the toilet which could very well include the removal of Strong.

It's all a matter of perception. I agree with you. But the donors believe cutting bait now saves us from going "further into the toilet."

"(The Miami) is the job that fits him perfectly," Kanell said. "I think Charlie Strong is a great coach and I like him a lot. He recruited me. He was at the University of Florida. I was in south Florida. He was my contact."
Kanell added that Strong's recruiting ability plays a role in why he should go to Miami.
"He's notoriously gone after Florida," Kanell said. "He's so familiar with the state. I think he resonates with the college football coaches there."
Kanell also said that Texas is an odd fit for Strong.
"When he went to Texas, I thought he might have a chance at success," Kanell said. "It's kind of a weird fight though. You kind of have to be the role of governor. I mean, Mack Brown was the perfect Texas football coach because he's great with the media ... Charlie Strong is not that guy and I think people are always going to hold that comparison."
He also said there are things that would be better for Strong in Miami.
"If he goes to Miami, first and most important thing I think he has that he doesn't have at Texas, he's got a quarterback," Kanell said. "Brad Kaaya is one of these special quarterbacks."

I'm not afraid of a combo of Warren and Johnson. Johnson's going to show some stuff if they get him involved in the short passing game.

It is just my opinion but I think Strong is back in 2016 but after that all bets are off. Now with that said I really hate to say this but if Texas could really get Saban you have to do it because if Strong does not work out the program is dead for at least several more years. But again Saban is not coming so I am afraid we are going to suck for several more years.
