SignUp Now!I have a similar opinion. I also have a sub for the OB and I enjoy several things that they bring to the table. What I don't enjoy over on the OB is all of the he said/she said and bashing of posters. I really liked the vibe and environment on this new site. I love what McPhaul and others bring to the table. That said I totally agree that this site needs to focus on making this a great place to be and a site that others strive to be. Constantly coming here and posting that site "X" said this about Hornsports or site "Y" said this about Hornsports is really counter productive at the end of the day. Also, whether you like the mods over at the OB or not, they are very good at what they do, and do so in a professional journalistic approach.I think this board is wayyyy too focused on what other boards are saying about them and what other boards are reporting in their own respective threads and not focused on how this board can begin to make a name for themselves. It's disrespectful to the people who are paying for that site and I know the other mods on those boards try to limit what gets reported from other sites. This board seems to relish on it.
I absolutely love what mcphaul brings to this site but outside of him and a few other posters, there is too much emphasis on ob and IT on this board.
Ugh, I feel better and sorry to vent and be that guy, just trying to defend the other sites.
And before u say it, I realize this is my first post and I realize I'm lurking. I just really value what mcphaul says and value all things Texas sports in this crucial time for athletics so wanted to join the board and will continue to post on threads probably in time.
This is the correct answer...to take it a step further the BoR has to approve it formally as well before it's binding. There is a concerted effort right now to publicly appease Powers by creating the perspective he is in control and has to meet with Saban and sign off on offering him the job. Of course, we know all of these things have already been taken care of behind the scenes. The Powers meeting is a necessary formality. The BoR votes are already in place. Mack has been paid off to go away. The terms are agreed to by both sides. This deal is effectively done and all that's left are the formalities and public announcements.well a contract is an agreement between two parties, so both parties would have to sign, I would assume Powers would be empowered to represent UT So it is possible that Nick has a contract in front of him but even if he signed it , it will not be valid until both parties sign
Perfectly stated Lobo. If you had not have said it, I was going to.mcphaul never said that a deal was going to get signed. But all contracts get reviewed by all parties before they are signed. It's common practice for one side to submit their proposal to the other side in order to gain agreement. Basically this puts the ball completely in the Saban/Sexton court. Texas has met everything that needs to be met in regards to Saban being the next HC. Now we will see whether or not he really wants the job.

Just as an FYI, Chip may have been commenting on an OB post as someone posted the same exact info as McPhaul did. Horns87 I believe.
Lol whatReally the contract has been approved by both parties but the can not find a pen....all in my head!!!!!!OK OK
Great first post. Good lesson for all us!I think this board is wayyyy too focused on what other boards are saying about them and what other boards are reporting in their own respective threads and not focused on how this board can begin to make a name for themselves. Welcome..I found this site after following MBHORNSFAN on Twitter, it seemed to be more mature and a whole lot less profanity laced than some of the other UT fan sites, I do realize that all UT fans peruse a couple of different sites to collect and contrast all the info and then have to decide and sift thru the data and decide what is real and what is crap...and I am all for adult discussions like the next guy, but they have their time and place
I have not found near the criticism of rival boards here I see elsewhere. I have lurked on OB, Shaggy, IT, horn fans, etc. for years. Shaggy has me in tears laughing sometimes, but I am not a brave enough soul to engage in the banter often required there. OB is a great site, but the Aggie and OU presence is too much for me. IT and Hornfans free boards are not active enough for me. Each has their niche , but this the first site I have felt inspired to actually participate. The primary reason for that has been the lack of hostility and respectful tone present in most posters. It is a better fit for me. I hope this continues to be a place with great info, hot rumors, and fun and respectful posters.
