would any NFL owner hire Mack Brown to coach their franchise and expect he could translate them info a super bowl winning organization with his style of coaching? They arent even the same type of coaches...for one Harbaugh is known to demand a lot of his team, and big on accountability.

Trying to compare Charlie Weiss trying to recruit in college with his nothing personality to Harbaugh doesnt make much sense to me either

I'm in full agreement about Briles and think he would be awesome at Texas. He has been no worse than 3rd on my list.

With that said, how could you be an NFL HC, have the last name Harbaugh(been around football since he was born) and not be a strong X's and O's guy? I don't see how that is even possible. You can't get by in the NFL and win a Super Bowl using smoke/mirrors.

Cant stop laughing at the John Harbaugh = Mack Brown post.

Harbaugh has never had a losing record in the NFL. He has been to the AFC champ game 3x and won a super bowl. Hes about the most impressive X & O coach out there aside from Belichick.

People are comfortable with Briles because its easy to be. Harbaugh is 100x the hire that Briles is, and Briles is a great hire.

Harbaugh has never even been an offensive or defensive coordinator at the college or pro level.

He is the classic CEO model approach. What systems will he run? Will he recruit to those systems? What happens when a coordinator leaves, do we have to scrap the offense and defense and start over all the time?

Even when he was a HS coach he killed it and went to countless championships and top 5 finishes.

I'm just operating under the assumption that any coach Texas hires is going to be light years better than what Texas was getting from Mack Brown circa 2006.
