It ain't Case's fault

As far as I'm concerned the dude has played over his head and deserves the respect of Longhorn fans. He isn't major D1 material and the program shouldn't be in such shape that he's the guy we have to turn to. He's won us some meaningful games in his career. It's been ugly but he's pulled a few rabbits out of his hat and gotten the job done. We may or may not beat TT and we will lose in embarrassing fashion to Baylor but I'm not at all disappointed or upset with McCoy. In fact, I like him and appreciate the way he's handled himself.

The A&M game and the OU smackdown are how I will remember him

You're right in the aspect that UT should never have been put in this position. That's no one's fault but Mack's. Case has played the way he has always played and today we found out that he just doesn't have the talent. A kid can never be blamed for that...Mack can't develop 5* talent, he sure as hell can't win w/ 2*.

I am extremely PROUD of Case McCoy... I only wish him the very best.

He's just not very good. And in spite of that, he beat a superior aggy team and punched OU in the face. He will likely suck the rest of the year but I put that on Mack.

McCoy didn't beat OU himself. Give due credit to defense and other players on offense.

Here is my take...

He has been here for 4 years and has not done anything to strengthen his arm...Or fix his mechanical flaws in his throwing motion...

Where was he this past summer while the team went through 7X7??

Is it really his fault he sucks? He doesn't have much to work with.

how many players in the past threaten to transfer, spend the nite before a bowl game drinking etc so they are not there for the team as a back up, are not at work outs in the summer, refuse to go into games, politic to try to be starter, have thgeir daddy helping all the way, prob more items and are are still on the team a head of other other qbs for reps etc.any other player would have been told to find another team. he did not win the a&m game. we could not move the ball all game. a&m screwed up and let him run against air at the end. the defense won that ball game and a nice field goal at the end.

QB position all falls on Mack. Our DB or lack of DBs all fall on Mack. Case should have never been more then a 3rd qb. I wonder how many RGlll we have playing db. The lack of recognition and development of players have plagued UT the last 4 yrs and that is on MACK.

Probably a nice kid and he did help beat a bad OU team, but he is holding back Swoopes and everyone knows it but Mack and Major.

Geeze, I see the mythology of Case McCoy lives big here as well. Let me spell it out for you, he's f##kING HORRIBLE. Never should have gotten an offer HORRIBLE. His two biggest wins were defense and special teams aided, and he still tried to give the game away against ou.

No Case mythology here. I think he is a sub par QB. My issue is with the program that has him in this position. If his dad had any sway on him then that is also on Mack.

Point is, Case McCoy should never have been our QB but he beat A&M in a huge game and he punched OU in the mouth. Clearly he isn't the only reason we won but then again you can say that about any QB when you talk W/L.

He doesn't appear to be holding back Swoops back. That would be the coaches again.

Liked the thread you started, Brasky and couldn't agree more. Not his fault Texas recruited him. Not his fault he was named the 2nd stringer over guys like JO and TS. He did what he could for the program and that has to be good enough - given the expectations for him were not that high.

How did he beat aggy, and punch ou in the mouth? Without defense and ST's getting scores or setting up scores both games are losses. The only thing he didn't do was F@#K up so bad that the defense and special teams were taken out of the game.

I agree with this post, but it's still frustrating that a program the caliber of UT even HAS McCoy Jr. at QB. But, as Mack Brown has said before, "It is what it is"

I refuse to believe we'll lose another Thanksgiving Day game, at home, to Tech. Stop it.

Agree with this post, too. McCoy Jr's throwing motion looks like he's trying to flick shit off of his hand!
