Saying that Murray announces commitment to UT next week?

some of you are members of OB - Is this a bunch of BS, or are they really saying this?

I am not on OB but I would say it's quite possible given the events that have transpired over the last week.

Not a memebr of OB, but reading on another site a lot of info regarding a possible press conference next week.  One poster has cred on this particuliar board and he said if he was betting Murray to Texas, then he is all in.  He claimed to know more but he said that was all he would say for now.

They didn't say he was announcing to Texas, but there is apparently some type of press conference next week.

There's suggestion that a PC next week by Murray may indicate him flipping to the good guys.

No firm confirmation of any scheduled PC at this time, but lots of smoke.

I have no idea if it's true or not, but I have be on that site long enough to know that they don't run with stuff like that without some pretty valid source info.

yep, unusually bold call on Ketchum's part.

the only stronger confirmation possible would be McPhaul saying there's zero chance of it happening.

No offense Chris, but I'll take the sources in Orange over the trio of Perroni/Luuci/Hamm any day of the week.

I'm not saying that Ketch & Co are spot on, but they wouldn't blatantly throw false info out there for the masses.

I started this thread to throw the question out there - seeing as how OB had said something "epic" was going down tonight.

Evidently it was just click bait and I was suckered in.  I hate that kind of crap and have no respect for those that initiate it. It's too close to "Bait and Switch' for my liking.

I respect those journalists so I trust their sources are telling them that's the case. But that's the deal with sources, they have their own biases and motivations at times.

So maybe I should state Brian Perroni's source says it's not true. Recruiting is such a fickle business at times and especially in the days leading up to signing day. I mean it's easy to commit 10 months in advance but when you know in less than two weeks, you as an a very young 18 year old adult are going to sign a document stating that you will play at this university for 4 years and be connected to that university for the rest of your life, it's not surprising that many of them waiver at the last minute. It's nerve wracking for them.

i've had issues with Ketchum before, but i didn't get that vibe at all. he basically went all in with a prediction of murray, lodge and anybody else of note committing to Texas.

Agree with this.  I hope my comment(s) didn't lead to your assessment of bait-and-switch, doc.

If the report of a Kyler Murray press conference is true then that is epic news. Murray is not going to hold a press conference to announce he's recommitting to the aggies. It would make him look like he has a big ego.

These are exciting times to be a Texas Longhorn fan.

I've read it (very entertaining to me)...and quite a few of the follow up posts. Ketchum is standing by what he wrote...no back track that I've seen thus far. If you want to read the whole war room article without paying for it...go over to Shaggy and look in the 715 page recruiting thread. Someone copied the whole thing and pasted it into that thread. It's not that difficult to find if you use some common sense and logic.

He's unzipped his fly no doubt. He'll either be known as the one who first called it or the one who got it completely wrong and take some heat for it.

According to the visitor calculator at the top of the page, there were over 48,000 on-line tonight after news got posted....a lot of aggie visitors I'm sure..
