Is texas scared of the SEC

l found this today while looking around and it got my blood pressure up. What does everyong think of this?

I like the article all the way up until the writer says

I have never heard of this Clay Travis guy but he is obviously an OU or A&M homer. Texas isn't scared of playing in the SEC. The SEC expands to 16 teams then rest assured an SEC team that has 2 losses will still be considered for a national championship game invite. The "Cultural Fit" argument is flattering to the Aggies but not really. What he should have said was that Aggie fans are a bunch of redneck incestuous hillbilly's that would fit right in with the alligator wrestlers in Louisiana and the buck teeth trailer living individuals in Alabama.
Football is football and the programs stands on its own merit. As far as academics are concerned, I doubt the SEC has a whole lot better academics than the ACC. Tell that to Duke and Virginia.

I would go for Texas in the SEC because it means they would still play Texas A&M every year but other than that this writer is ridiculous.

Well written article and I think he has some valid points. Look, I would love for Texas to go to the SEC because they would be a premier team in a damn good conference. Are they scared to go to the SEC? No. Texas will do what makes the most sense for Texas, factoring in revenue, recruiting and the student athletes involved.

A&M would have their panties in a wad if Texas ended up in the SEC. Aggies try to escape Texas and Texas end up in the SEC? It would be monumental. Poor Aggies.

I would love to see Texas go SEC. Honestly though, I do not think the SEC would ever take Texas. Do you really think Bama, LSU and Florida want to take on another powerhouse team every year? The SEC is gonna go to 16 teams, but I think they will all be like A&M. Mediocre teams who think they can roll with the big boys.

Me too. Texas would play the best competition on a weekly basis which would be a good thing for the program. We would integrate to the SEC system much faster than the aggies, despite all the talk of how the aggies are a natural fit there, etc. The Outkick article raises a ton of excellent arguments. Would the SEC even consider inviting Texas though? Now that they have the aggies and the tv and recruiting markets the aggies bring, why would they invite us?

It was pathetic watching the SEC talking heads continue to try to talk Tennessee into being a good team this year. They really needed some team, any team, to pair up with Bama so the conference wouldn't look like Ned and the First Reader. But Tennessee couldn't fit the bill. And they're not any different than the rest of the very ordinary conference this year. They just lost to Vanderbilt.

With the exception of Vanderbilt, Kentucky and MIzzou, every team in the SEC has been ranked this year. You can't fault the media for at least trying to get the whole conference ranked. They did try.

Ole Miss was ranked top 10. They're 5-7.

LSU was ranked top 10. They're 8-4

Aggy was ranked top 10. They're 8-4

Georgia is ranked in the top 10 every single year. Have they ever finished there?

Arkansas must be contractually bound to 7-5. 

Every year, it's simply a contest for the media on how many teams from the SEC can they get ranked. And for the following 13 weeks, it slowly falls apart on them.

There was a rumor floating around that A&M, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Kentucky had a "pact" to vote against any teams from their home states in joining the SEC. It takes a 3/4 vote of all members to allow new members. Those 5 schools have 36% if they stick together. I don't believe Texas would be scared if it made good financial sense. Texas doesn't need the SEC to make them relevant.

I don't think we'd blend in well over there.

So yea ugly fits.  As for funny, it doesnt describe Kansas.  Despressing and sad is more like it.

I just find it weird we are talking about how we should leave the Big 12, which I am in favor of, but we got beat by the worst team in college football.

In the end, you say ugly and I say unto you....better to be ugly than aggie.  Sugar coating shit isnt my thing.
