Is Patterson a marketing genius?

Loved hearing Musberger say that FSU was driving towards the "Vince Young" end zone!

Never thought they'd swing it, but the SEC losing did not stop the love fest. FSU was just a reproduction of SEC teams.

I agree with you. But let's just be thankful for the blessings we have. Just think how much worse it would have been if Auburn won.

Yep. 13 other fan bases would be preparing for parades.

The only 3 schools talked about today were FSU, Auburn, and Texas.
Good grief, guys, Patterson had nothing to do with Texas being mentioned frequently on tonight's broadcast. Get a grip

That's not what I was talking about. Plenty of time throughout the day was spent discussing Strong to Texas.

My apologies. Yes, the timing of Patterson naming Strong HC was great for UT. It was talked about all day leading up to the MNC.

You're right

On FSU's 2nd or 3rd play before the go-ahead TD, Musburger even referred to Jameis as "Vince." Take that FWIW.

Lots of good press for Texas tonight. We'll see if it pays immediate dividends in recruiting.

Agree that our timing was very nice.

However, I also think we did a poor job of controlling the narrative.

We should have been out front and set the message. It should have been ours to dictate.

But "we" (Patterson/UT media relations) were slow out of the gate, which let the national media do that.

We lost a good chance to make this about whatever we wanted to make it about.

Too late now. What's done is done. Hopefully, with more time to get his own folks in there, Patterson will get on top of this. He should.
