Shannon,
Thanks for your contributions to the UT football program.
"First thing I learned while playing QB at Texas, was that life is not always fair. It doesn’t always work out the way you had planned it". Your words are so true. Fortunately, you got to live out your childhood dreams. Many of us "wannabes" were not that blessed. As a boy, I dreamed of being the next Mike Cotton or James Saxton, but it wasn't meant to be. Perhaps in my next life, but for now I am content that I'm where God wants me to be. But, I sure wish he wanted me to run out of the tunnel at the Cotton Bowl and bust a sooner.
For the majority of my life I have assisted organizations and people with career transition issues...and the advice from your Mother was right on... "Finally, it wasn’t until my mother became terminally ill with cancer, when she said to me 'stop doing what you think everyone else around you thinks you should spend your life doing, and go do what your heart desires'. iT WAS GREAT ADVICE!"
As an advertiser, Aaron allows me to submit a monthly blurb,,,"HORN" In On Franchise / Business Ownership and I have been wondering what I should write / post for September. I think I will use your introductory piece as a segue to a topic like... Today, the majority of employees are not engaged at work. In other words, most workers are not happy, not satisfied, not productive, not loyal, not inspired and will jump ship if another opportunity arises...
Thanks for the idea and welcome to Horn Sports. Hook 'em!
